Southern Cross Austereo (Regional)

Away for a few nights and staying near Nagambie so can pick up Triple M Goulburn Valley 95.3 and Bendigo 93.5. As we know the only difference is the adds and the breakfast show. But got to say Gohgo and Jules is a top quality breakfast show compared to the rest. Maybe as Cohco is a veteran at it but certainly worth a listen.

Heard a bit of 1152 Wagga in the car when waiting to get on the Spirit Of Tasmania late this afternoon in Devonport.

Heard them talking about the Carlton v Collingwood AFL game during The Rush Hour. Made me think Wagga gets the Melbourne Rush Hour now, I’m sure they used to take the Sydney one?

AFAIK, Wagga Wagga has always taken the Melbourne Rush Hour and they mostly take the AFL matches. Griffith takes the Sydney one and mirrors the rest of the regional Triple M stations in NSW.

TRIPLE M SOUTHWEST LAUNCHES ‘BLANKET BUNBURY’

Triple M Southwest is launching a new community initiative, ‘Blanket Bunbury’.

From this Friday 3 May, Triple M Southwest is calling on the local community to provide new or unused blankets to assist the homeless as the cooler winter months set in.

The South West recently recorded the highest proportion of people rough sleeping in WA, with a 62.9% increase in people experiencing homelessness, up from 415 to 676.

’Blanket Bunbury’ will launch tomorrow, 3 May, with a live broadcast at Martin Burns Bedroom Furnishings store, hosted by Triple M Southwest’s Drive show host Cliff Reeve.

Listeners and the local community are invited to bring blankets down between 9am and midday to kickstart the blanket drive.

Triple M Southwest Drive announcer, Cliff Reeve, said: “Considering the Southwest region is a very giving community, we’ll be able to help those who are doing it tough, and perhaps most importantly, it will highlight that there is a homelessness problem in our town that we can help alleviate.”

Following a month of blanket collections, Triple M Southwest will host another live broadcast on Friday 1 June, showcasing the donated blankets by covering The Graham Bricknell Memorial Music Shell in Bunbury.

Triple M Southwest will be accepting blanket donations until 1 June.

Drop off points for the new or unused blankets are:

  • Triple M Bunbury, Spencer Street, Bunbury
  • Triple M Busselton, Queen Street, Busselton
  • Martin Burns, Blair Street, Bunbury

One look and you knew it, I didn’t need to go to LieIn.

Interesting to see how the next Albany survey/straw poll goes, the SCA AM station (originally 6VA, Radio West) hasn’t had great results. The s.40 also eats into its audience with similar music, clearly considered better by the locals.

Interesting, Griffith and the MIA, love their AFL alongside league, a hybrid area like Wagga & Riverina. The Barassi line isn’t a distinct boundary.

Enjoy all you can listen to networking on your local SCA station, served cold from the Gold Coast.

No thanks.
