Two more senior appointments?
SCA really don’t understand too many chiefs and not enough Indians. It’s top heavy and worse by the month, all for very little gain.
Yes it’s the modern corporate disease I’m afraid.
“ With 400,000 Australian homes already connected with Sonos speakers, SCA said the new deal will give advertisers unique access to the Australian connected home.”
That’s a pretty decent take up considering it’s not a cheap system to invest in.
How many are being used at any one time?
Good question. I note in the Radioinfo article they also state;
“ According to Targetspot, more than 400,000 Australian homes are now connected with Sonos speakers, with each averaging 2.8 devices per household”
So you’d think if they’ve got at least 2 of these in their house they’d be using them constantly, I know I do.
SCA has announced a new partnership with Qantas Business Rewards to promote an extensive national regional campaign that encourages local businesses to advertise with SCA’s local radio stations to reach their customers.
Called ‘Advertise Local’, the campaign incentivises small to medium enterprises (SMEs) with Qantas Points to boost their business by advertising with local Hit and Triple M stations across the country.
SMEs that join Qantas Business Rewards and advertise with their local stations will receive one Qantas Point for every $1 spent on eligible products for SCA Access members and 1.5 points for every $1 spent for SCA Access Plus members. SCA Access is an exclusive offering for SCA regional clients.
SCA Perth has appointed Marc Eddy as Acting General Manager, replacing Erica McGee.
McGee, who has been acting in the General Manager role for 18 months, has decided to step down to focus on the mix94.5 brand, particularly given upcoming changes for the Perth market’s content strategy.
I wish they would just hurry up and rip off the bandaid!

A UK accent male is speaking now, giving a summary of the company’s supposed achievements.
Has just made a comment that they want the reach and voices legislation scrapped in regional areas.
Why should they be given that when they have removed local breakfast shows in dozens of markets? No company should be rewarded for removing important local broadcasting platforms.
UK bloke is paying tribute to directors who are leaving & recommended to be voted in.
None have any media experience. Not useful.
To close, he’s talking up approving more bonuses to Grant Blackley.
Why? Hardly covered himself with glory.
1045 AEDT:
Grant Blackley takes over speaking.
His usual dress of no tie, open white business shirt, very deep and a grey suit jacket/sports blazer.
More to come if I can be bothered listening…
Sir, you should be awarded a medal for listening to all this corporate wank.
Thanks, I’ll type more later, had better things to do than listen to it live, recorded it, will listen back and post more over the weekend.
Paging resident SCA shareholder @nickatnights to the thread.
Don’t remind me!
My love for radio should never have translated into buying shares in this radio network. The shares closed today at 18c. That’s only 18c higher than Dick Smith, Toys R Us and Ansett shares. I bought them when they were worth over $2.
Every time I see a Hit or Triple M logo, little tears form in my eyes…
Now in its second year, Concert in the Clouds, co-produced with Eardrum, will play on Sunday 3rd, 10th and 17th of January in 2021. The unique commercial radio experience will gift listeners with the feeling of being amongst the crowds, in the middle of a mosh pit while watching some of the biggest global and homegrown artists.
Both the Hit and Triple M networks will curate and present live music concerts for listeners that align with each network brand.
Then they consolidated shares 10 for 1 and briefly stayed at their consolidated price. On the slide since of course.
