Tiktok doubles its revenue in Australia

Tiktok Australia has almost doubled its profits, and tripled its revenue during a massive twelve-month growth period in the country.

According to ASIC filings, TikTok Australia made $679 million in the year to December 31, compared to $375.2 million in 2023.

$474.3 million of this came directly from advertisers, with the remainder simply filed under “services”.

The company made $31.2 million in profits, a huge leap from the $11.4 million it cleared in 2023. It’s biggest local expenditure was online advertising spend, for which the company paid $341.7 million. Tiktok paid $11.1 million in income tax in Australia.

After leaving even reading Twitter last year and completely deleting it, I tried Bluesky, it seemed fine for a bit but now it’s almost as extreme as Twitter, but to the other side (admitedtely not Nazis). Every thread is derailed by posts trying to be outraged or picking up on anything that could be more left-wing in thinking, or falling over themselves to be as virtue-signalling as possible. It’s completely unhinged.

And this is all from following media accounts and avoiding political ones. Every single social media app is basically unbearable to use anymore.

Yeah they are all varying degrees of infuriating in their own ways. I’m trying to pull back on my usage and then just bin them entirely if I can.

Haven’t these two got anything better than fighting amgonst themselves.

Sort our crap out or get in the ring and have Issac Butterfield (of whom I’m not a fan, BTW) referee the fight.
