There was never this many mental health issues before the internet and more importantly, social media came along.

Actually, I stumbled across a old 4 corners episode a few months. It was done I think back in 2010 so its 15 (it may even be older) years old. And the whole thing was about teens self harming due to texting and social media. Because this was so long ago they had no idea what to do. Anyway my point is if you ever watch it you will see how sad and complex this issue is.

TikTok and social media in general is the cause of so much pain and suffering, especially to young people.

There always been suffering no pain and issues with young people. Not a direct causation, but social media has somewhat amplified issues such as bullying with young people.
