Discussion of newly-christened combined Paramount-Warner Bros. Discovery.
Paramount (which will become Skydance on Oct. 6 when the WBD acquisition closes) is yet to officially confirm how it will combine HBO Max and Paramount+ into a streaming operation expected to be overseen by Casey Bloys, Chairman and CEO of HBO and HBO Max Content.
Asked yesterday whether the two platforms, which are considered pretty complimentary in their offerings, would be bundled vs. fully integrated, he hinted that a bundle may be the way to go.
Don’t they have to keep things fairly separate for 5 years under the terms of all the settlements they’ve made?
Once those 5 years are up, and if they’re in the shitter. oh boy. It’ll be a Nightmare in Hollywood. Coming soon from ParaWarnerMountBros Pictures ![]()
Yeah 5 years of some limbo mixed thing until they fold it all. That being said who knows who will be the owner then.
The bylines on the studio logos at the start of movies are a great time capsule of the clusterfuck that has been studio ownership of both Paramount and Warner Bros. I don’t believe “A Skydance Corporation” will last the 5 years
The deal, valued at $111 billion, brings together two major studios, TV networks including CBS, CNN, Comedy Central, MTV and TBS, and streaming services Paramount+ and HBO Max. The new Skydance will have annual revenue of nearly $70 billion, the company says — but it also will have to wrestle with $80 billion in net debt.
It’s going to be one mighty streaming service ![]()

Maybe they think if they send this through, daddy corporate will assume everything’s fine and won’t go through the books and see the true state of the network ![]()
The reel that plays really shows how hot their current branding looks.
“Skydance and Oracle are now intrinsically intertwined, and combined they have $240B of debt, a good portion of which is either junk or a millimeter above junk. To put that in perspective the Ellisons now carry more in debt than all of Disney is worth.”
