I’ve removed the last two posts - the personal attacks have to stop, not only are they are inappropriate and hurtful, they are also against our rules.
I appreciate that Sky (especially “After Dark”) is not everyone’s cup of tea (this includes myself) but that is not a reason nor an excuse to dispense with reasonable discourse when discussing the channel and its presenters.
I can understand in regards to SKY, it’s not straight journalism, though I believe people should have a choice, that’s democracy. Atleast give us CNN, what about those from overseas or for the children, Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network.
Nah, I disagree. Good MATV systems in hotels should still be a thing for a long time yet, especially when most hotel TV’s are too dumb to cast to or contain any usable apps.
The various Sky News Australia apps aren’t live streaming the actual Sky News channel. Ordinarily, it’s three streams branded as Sky News Extra 1,2,3 which are just playlists of random encores with no actual live content. And with no TV guides for them you have no idea when a show is on or how long it’s been on for.
However, they did begin livestreaming Sky News COVID-19 in place of Sky News Extra 1 earlier this year, but this still isn’t the actual Sky News service with encores aplenty overnight and strictly COVID-19 related news during the day.
The Australia Channel app does exactly what you are thinking - offers a 24/7 live stream of Sky News Australia. But, you have a subscription fee to pay and it’s not available in Australia.
I’ve come to the conclusion that the only useful thing about Alan Jones’ show is that HYBPA is able to take bits and pieces of the show and take the piss out of it.
Commenting here so that the Studio 10 thread didn’t go off-topic.
It’s always surprised me that Sky have never tried to launch a Morning Joe-type political breakfast program considering how politically-dominated the channel is
