They seem to be! I guess it stems from when Newscorp owned Foxtel until recently. They are really persistent, because even when you change to other channels, each time you switch on iQ5 it starts playing Sky News in the background. What an absolute joke! And what a heap of crap that content is. As I said itâs pure propaganda and is more blatant than even Russia Today.
Anyway the solution is to block the channel in iQ5 using your PIN and parental controls.

Is this serious? Do the IQ stb units really default back to Sky news when you first turn it on?

Yep. I just moved to iQ5 from Foxtel Now and it defaults back to Sky News every time I switch it on. Well it did until I blocked it.

Yeah not sure as Iâve been on Foxtel Now for years before switching to iQ5. No, it was pretty easy to block just using the PIN and Parental Control option to block whichever channels you want. When I Googled âHow can I block Sky News on Foxtelâ the answer came up straight away, so lots of people asking the question

I rarely watch Sky News as I want my life to be filled with calmness, respect and a genuine debate about good ideas.
However, I cannot wait to see Paul Murray and friends on After Dark deal with the election results. It appears that all of these right wing screamers have virtually no effect on Australian elections. Ouch. I suspect that most people watching âPaul Murray Yellsâ are doing so for a laugh.
I think itâs time to rebrand the channel as:
- Sky Opinion
- Sky Bias
- Sky Anger
- Sky Ineffectual
Iâm watching the Outsiders right now. I am loving their analysis of the election result. Evidently, itâs all the fault of the moderate Liberals. They are also using a cartoon background with the PM dressed as a clown. The words âdisgraceâ is being used to describe the teals. Now there is a cartoon of Senator Penny Wong dressed as a clown. Now the terms âfreaksâ and âhalf-witsâ is used to describe the Treasurer and Senator Wong. Michelle Obama was just described as a âmiserable womanâ. Not quite why they pivoted to Michelle Obama. I think itâs all tied into the breakdown they appear to be having.
Dead set an ad just came on saying âDemocracies all over the world rely on correct information. This is Sky Newsâ
Classic stuff.

This is correct.
This piece states something about her saying Dutton shouldâve defined what a woman was. Sheâs really clutching at straws regarding this culture wars stuff. Wouldâve divided Australians even more. Just vile hate filled stuff.

Sheâs an oxygen thief. Nightly show on Sky, columns in the paper and itâs all just anti climate, anti woke culture war stuff. Looks like sheâs been wrong twice now (2022 and 2025).

Opinion programming just started and theyâre whinging already about Alboâs speech and âwhat went wrongâ. Itâs some loud mouth Danica woman and James someone. They are just bagging Albanese and saying Australia elected the worst government and worst prime minister ever.
So they just donât respect the voters.
