According to the AFR, News Corp’s 10 year licensing deal to use the Sky News name is due to expire in late 2025 or 2026.
If a rebrand needs to happen, potential alternatives being flagged include Fox News Australia, Talk Australia and Australian News Channel.

The problem with ANC is you cant have ‘ANC News’ or just ‘ANC’. Its also too close to ABC.
I feel like they should just go down the FOX News Australia road. It also lines up with FOX Sports branding etc.

ANC is their corporate entity but wouldn’t work as channel brand. Talk also wouldn’t work because 2/3 of their content is news. Fox News Australia is the most likely candidate, but I think they’d be testing the waters given the negative brand connotations out of America. Sky AU is different to Sky UK, but it’s also different to Fox US. While Sky’s opinion hosts are right-wing, their actual news operation is largely neutral. The Fox brand could diminish that reputation, particularly in Canberra.
The comprimise could be to retain the name but create a unique logo to distinguish AU from UK?

we come up first last time i checked! i just don’t see a name as generic as “news australia” or “aus news channel” working (emphasis on the first of those two)
and as i said, forget google, it just doesn’t sound that good lol

I def think it’ll be Fox News, but I do think tying the name to news.com.au or The Australian would be smart too.
