My point being that Sky News is absolutely loathed by the majority of participants in here that any chance they will get to throw stones at it, they will. If you don’t like Sky News, don’t watch it. It seems that Sky News for many is like looking at a fatal car accident. They shouldn’t look at it but they can’t look away. And then bitch and complain about what they saw when they didn’t need to put themselves through all that unnecessary pain and trauma.
some of us get sucked into watching or at least having it within earshot via family members. It’s not a joy, most of the time.
tbh, though, looking at the last month of posts, nobody here is even talking about watching Sky. It’s mostly about peripheral stuff like Sky News cancelling its Christmas parties and sharing articles about whatever Cory Bernardi is banging on about and Sharri Markson’s big covid “expose”. Not many comments are about what people are actually watching on Sky.
People should watch Sky News as it’s hilarious. Loved the story this week slamming Woolworths for renaming its gingerbread men as “gingerbread people”. What a riveting story from the same Sky News that banned the 2023 Christmas Party for its entire staff after a few employees acted inappropriately at previous Christmas functions.
Maybe Woolies should market the Sky News Gingerbread Men - they could hold a gingerbread beer in one hand and a gingerbread subpoena to appear in court in the other.
Sky News slammed over ’woke’ banning of popular Christmas function.
Your ordinary Joes wouldn’t even give a damn about the name changes yet we’ve got Sky flapping their gums in a flap as they continue their ‘war on woke’ or whatever tripe that is.
as someone who doesn’t watch Sky News on a regular basis, i am curious do the opinion/after dark crowd ever do anything that isn’t screeching, bellowing negativity? Do they contribute anything positive to society in any way, because from my limited exposure to the channel all I ever see is whinge whinge, moan, how bad is Labor, how bad is the ABC, DaNIeL AnDrEwS, woke this, woke that, etc etc etc. Do they have even the slightest bit of optimism or positivity in their commentary or is only just doom, gloom and hate that the world is 100% bad.
No
Not necessarily, but Sky keeps them all nicely quarantined in their own little bubble, saves them escaping the zoo and popping up on other media.
Is Sky News on Binge? I note they’ve recently added CNN, MSNBC and cnbc live channels.
Sky News give the angry and outraged something to watch on TV.
Without Sky News After Dark these people could be roaming our streets late at night.
Sky News keeps me safe when the sun sets and I appreciate that.
Actually they do…
Whenever they have one of the Coalition or ON pollies onboard to whinge about Labor, the Greens and anyone to the left of Pauline Hanson.
I’m pretty sure Paul Murray and Rowan Dean are internally drooling when talking about a Donald Trump presidency or Peter Dutton as PM and in their worlds that equates to rainbows and sparkles.
Yep and even their comment section is full of bile and trash of the chicken kind.
Its rare, but it does happen - I put it down to the “stopped clock” theory.
There was one in the last few weeks (it was either Andrew Bolt or Chris Kenny) that got coverage on Media Watch where they actually had a decent position on something, I was surprised
I know Chris Kenny broke away from the pack to support the Yes vote in the referendum. I didn’t see that coming
Kenny was part of the original voice panel launched by Ken Wyatt.
and look at the ratings! always a dip.
Don’t they dislike ABC’s Q&A because it ‘heavily favours left-wing ideals’?
This is probably going to end up being the same thing, but an big emphasis on right-wing & ‘culture war’ ideas/topics. If you can’t beat them, join them.
and just like Q&A it will turn out to be a bin fire. Probably worse.
Look, people may not agree with each other, but everyone is entitled to their own opinions. However, why is the Sky News Australia community on Social Media so vile at times?
A post on Friday about Jimmy Barnes’ ongoing health issues due to being treated for bacterial pneumonia, is riddled with “Haha” reacts, and littered with unkind and conspiracy-fulled comments.
He is an icon of Australian music and part of our country’s culture, so to see so many rude sentiments towards him while unwell is disgusting.
Their community is just as bad as the DailyFail.
