Sky News (2016-Feb 2025)

How’s that for morale? Poor Matt Cunningham will have lunch by himself in Darwin.

I am so sick of these right wing organisations trying to cancel Christmas. This is a Christian nation and if we don’t fight this lunacy we will have nothing left to celebrate. Cancelling the work Christmas party is the same as trying to wipe out the last 235 years of Australian history. It’s time to stand up Australia. Today Murdoch wants to cancel the Sky News’ Christmas party and, mark my words, tomorrow he’ll be cancelling everyone’s Christmas lunch. I’m going to contact Peter Dutton’s office to see if he is willing to help us save Christmas.

It’s unAustralian. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I thought it was only those woke lefties wanting to cancel Christmas, and Sky isn’t into cancel culture :man_shrugging:

Everyone cancelling Christmas parties due to cost of living pressure

Kerry Packer at Nine used to give all staff a big Xmas hamper instead of running a Xmas party - far less trouble than people getting drunk and not everyone including him was a drinker anyway. Shift workers would also miss out on a party if they were rostered on. Nowaday’s sexual harassment actions are a common outcome of Xmas parties too.

WIN also used to do Xmas hampers instead of a party.

Just waiting for the Sky news report on this…

Not really. It’s a multicultural nation with various religions.

I 100% agree with you. My post was a bit of a send up of how the right wing media often claim that the left is trying to cancel Christmas - and here we have Sky News canceling the Christmas party. The best part is some are suggesting that the party was canceled as their male staff can’t drink alcohol and be respectful towards female staff. It looks like family values are out of fashion at Sky News.

prob a cost saving measure

Oh haha I got ya now. Yeah I find it odd to but then again nothing about Sky News and management suprises me. Especially since Sky News is not a really trusted brand among the real people when it comes to behaving badly.

Although I would watch Sky News if host Sharri Markson’s new documentary was titled “What Really Happened At The Sky News Christmas Party: The Next Chapter”

I think the Sky christmas party events technically come under news, so before 5pm
it being cancelled, and the reasons why (cancel culture!) would prob be opinion, so after 5
