Getting out whilst she can.
You’d wonder if the other reporters who work there suffer from Stockholm syndrome.

Mmmm. Not sure. He is after all, a private citizen.
DAMN IT!!! I liked Charlie. Oh well, they’ve got Danica De Giorgio, Kenny Heatley and Gabby Power in Sydney.
Do you like being yelled at?
You know it’s not just axe grinding and personal vendettas, yeah? Murdoch is a problem in this country. No one else has the balls to stand up to his shit. Maybe look at his arguments and see if they have weight?
She’s horrendous. Constantly yelling and her pathetic questioning of Gladys with the same questions borders on harassment. She is mediocre at best.
He’s only holding both to account because a) He disagrees with their viewpoint/ideology and b) They’re his media and political opponents. The same thing can be said about [insert Sky opinion host here] and their relentless criticisms of the opposition and the ABC.
In both cases, the rhetoric is tired, predictable and doesn’t positively contribute to the national discourse
And he has had the opportunity to do that in the late 2000s as Labor leader and PM. You see it with ALOT of politicians - say nothing when in “the system”, then after they leave, they magically rediscover the real world. I won’t listen to that nonsense.
The extent of the problem wasn’t so apparent back then.
Murdoch has always had a fair say in the country’s matters through his media. It’s no different now than it was back then. People only complain because of the increased concentration, but that is a result of a no-growth industry - if the paper industry was as strong today as it was 30 years ago, he wouldn’t be able to own as much.
You always have a choice in life. Most people have principles too, although some would joke that politicians don’t have any.
I think this statement shows you vastly underestimate his involvement and influence in politics.
Anyone who has money can influence, that is not a Murdoch exclusive.
It’s not, but he’s the one with the greatest influence. Who else in this country has the money and the platform for comparison?
He’s spent the money buying up all those titles, if someone else did the same, they’d be in the same position.
Packer is the closest I can think of - he had a slew of magazines and the number 1 FTA network - and that was mostly in a non-internet world. Look, I’m not going to slag someone for spending their own money buying up media then using it to advance their own business interests (just because I run things one way doesn’t mean everyone else has to do the same) - all businesses would do it to varying degrees.
I don’t think anyone is slagging Murdoch for just his majority ownership. It’s clearly about what he’s using that for. That’s the point of this entire Rudd versus Murdoch thing.
I imagine it wouldn’t be as much of an issue if some other big wig bought them all up and didn’t have a political agenda like Murdoch.
The trouble those most likely to hold them accountable are those least likely to watch.
Lol, Nine under Packer was a premium, largely highbrow network. He bankrolled serious news programs like Sunday and a much more serious and expensive National Nine News operation - think of all the foreign correspondents it used to have and not just for Hollywood gossip like today.
Paker, with his own faults, political views and interests was largely a benign billionaire owner.
He certainly wasn’t enabling the far right and white supremacists like Murdoch is.
True but Murdoch has a clear right wing agenda and I’m sorry to say but it seems in you are actually agreeing with what he’s doing. Sky News Australia has leaned so far to the right and I thought it’s reporting was unbiased clearly the influence has turned it into a liberal based agenda channel.
Before you compare this to ABC and saying that they are leftist biased , they report facts and investigate and don’t spread lies about a dangerous panda which has the potential to mutate and become lethal in the future as we are seeing now.
For Sky News After Dark to reach out to viewers and bait them with Mis information about a virus and calling it just a flue and telling people to protest in a midst of a pandemic about the “dangerous” vaccinations is irresponsible and quite frankly they should be banned from any online media platform.
It’s not about censorship it’s about not repeating false information that could lead to even more
Super spreader events we have seen in Sydney and across the world with the Delta Variant.
Just my two cents.
