Commenting on the ACCC green light, the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Seven West Media, Tim Worner, said: “We are genuinely excited about this acquisition. We will have great assets which undoubtedly build on our commitment to delivering the very best news coverage and content to the people of Western Australia.

“We wish to acknowledge the great work of News Corporation in growing and building these businesses and are mindful that it was Rupert Murdoch’s second acquisition and dear to his heart. We will be worthy custodians.

Great interview with chairman Kerry Stokes AC on 3AW’s Neil Mitchell morning program today.

I love it when he said “…they wouldn’t want to sue me, because they know what assets I have…”

What’s the story there?

I can’t quite remember the context, but when I heard him say that I giggled

Seven West Media has signed a content supply deal with Newzulu, allowing SWM to crowd-source videos and other content and stream from reporters’ phones. The deal covers Seven’s TV, newspapers, magazines and related digital platforms. Under the terms of the deal SWM will have the right to use Newzulu’s international crowd-sourced content in its newspapers, TV network and magazines and websites on a fee basis, while Newzulu will have the worldwide rights outside Australia to distribute both SWM’s professionally created and user-generated library on a revenue share basis.
