Finally got to it!
Most bulletins were higher than the Easter week with Seven News up 19 and Nine News up 39,000 as the later edges closer each week.
Compared to the same week of 2023 Seven was down 9% in the 5-city market while Nine was up 6%, a big turn around.
Sydney saw both bulletins lower. Melbourne had Seven down 26% while Nine was up 8%. Brisbane featured a 10% increase for Seven but Nine was up by 15% to take the week.
Adelaide had both down around 6% while the Perth markets was interesting with Seven down 8% and Nine up 17% with record numbers for Nine’s bulletin aided by it new lead in.

After the end of daylight savings in three markets, Seven’s bulletin averaged an extra 7,000 viewers while Nine’s was down 18,000. Compared to week 15 of 2023 Nine’s bulletin was steady while Seven was down 18%.
Both bulletins improved on last week in Sydney but were down on 2023.
Melbourne continued the trend towards Nine with a 30k win that was up 8% on last year while Seven’s bulletin was down 32% (though this week last year included a +400k bulletin for Easter Monday).
Nine in Brisbane secured another win; though narrow it was a 3% improvement on 2023 while Seven lost 6%.
Adelaide saw another easy win for Seven while both bulletins were down on last year. In Perth Nine continued to close the gap, even with last year while Seven was down 23%.

A generally positive week with most bulletins up and where there was a fall it minimal. Nine’s bulletin posted a 40,000 gain with Seven up 14,000.
I’ve added a new table that show the percentage change from the same week last year. Nine is up 5% and Seven down 9%. Melbourne continues to be notable for a 35% turnaround.

Melbourne numbers are unbelievable. Still can’t believe just how right Nine got it with their lineup.

Week 17 saw Seven win its first week in Melbourne thanks two wins on Wednesday and Thursday, post AFL, that saw the biggest news audience for any bulletin of the year. Seven also made up ground in Brisbane with four wins across the week. Overall that saw Seven up 33k and Nine down 23k from the previous week.
When compared to week 17 of 2023, however, Seven showed significant losses in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth while Nine was up in Melbourne and Perth representing a 25% turnaround in both markets in one year.
