Maybe not just yet. Richie did around 35 summers of cricket.
Jim Wilson (just prior to 1pm) has now taken over the host positionâŚ
How weird did that lookâŚ
No Bruce McAvaney sitting alongside Jim Courier!
A rare fresh change though
How long had Bruce been commenting and part of the tennis? I know before him, John Alexander was a long time co-commentator with Jim (before he was elected to parliament).
Garry Wilkinson, Peter Landy and Allan Stone donât commentate these days?
Fond memories of Sevenâs endless summer of tennis. The tournaments had the same three commentators, but there were different graphics as the Seven channel in each capital did the coverage. And I miss ATN7 covering the Manly Seaside Open.
A fresh change would be to go back to the past!! I find Sevenâs tennis coverage very bland.
Bruce joined Seven some time around 1990 if thatâs any help.
@littlegezzybear l also remember watching Peter Landy and Allan Stone in commentary together and JA ,also remember back in them days Gary Wilkinson use to do the Sydney tournament at White City as well.
Allan Stone provided expert commentary at Seven for over 30 years but was not part of the team last year, not sure about this year.
Allan Stone was still part of Sevenâs Australian Open (or at least the world feed) until a few years ago.
@LukeMovieMan that female reporter might have been Emily Angwin.
Yes I know he has been with Seven for ages. But I donât personally remember him as part of the tennis coverage as a commentator until around 6 years ago. That could just be my memory thoug.
No.
It was Belinda somebody.
A new face to me?
Hamish McLachlan hosting evening coverage.
What happened to Mel McLaughlin?
Perhaps sheâll be the new late night host?
Given Basil Zempilas is filling-in for Bruce then.
Not sure if this has been posted but the 7 Tennis app is available on Fetch TV by Optus.
Good move by 7. Very smart.
Mel took over from Hamish at around 9pm Melbourne time.
Before anyone here has a meltdownâŚthe article is satirical.
Is that website like The Onion?
All I gotta say is âTFâ
I did see a click bait twitter-based story on news.com.au criticising Seven for trying to interview Nick Kyrgiosâ Mum while a game was in progress and being ignored by her.
Yeah the betoota advocate. Really funny.
