LMAO
Has there been any press kit for the Aus Open @TV.Cynic?
I presume based off the Rio Olympics that Mel McLaughlin would be a host?
Nada from Seven so far.
@LukeMovieMan Jim Wilson has tweeted he is looking forward to working on Australian Open,so most likely hosting sometime during day sessions again this year.
Seven is partnering with Twitter Amplify platform to provide live and exclusive video highlights from this yearâs Australian Open on the 7Tennis account. According to Twitter, the clips will include a pre-roll ad from sponsors including ANZ, Kia, Campari, Gold Coast Commonwealth Games Organising Committee, TAL Insurance and William Hill.
The Womenâs Doubles Final has just finished up in Sydney not the long ago. Seven decided not to show their Winners Presentation!!! Instead, they went to a commercial break, and then came back from the break to show us a replay of the FAST4 match between Kyrgios and Nadal.
Couldnât they at least cover the presentation and then go to the replay? Thatâs more logical to me
SThe Tennis Australia scorecard graphics seems to have some issues. So currently we have the Seven graphics scoreboard. It is very similar to the last few years. Black is now blue.

2016:
Is this the first time Seven are streaming Qualifying through their app, because those shots would have been from either 2nd or 3rd round qualifying?
I get annoyed from all the constant promotions Seven have during the tennis coverage for upcoming programm es '"After the Tennis ".Especially for MKR ,doesnât mean Iâm going to watch it, never have and I never will.Otherwise I enjoy their coverage of the tennis,Iâm sure Jim Courier will be commentating at the Oz Open again, has done for years now,I hope Lleyton Hewitt does some commentating too this year
Monday 23rd & Friday 27th (both week 2) will be the only days/nights where there is no competition from any form of cricket.
And as with the last few years, the only nights tennis gets massive ratings even if there is cricket on, is if an Australian is playing and are doing well.
With Bruce McAvaney and Johanna Griggs absent, Mel McLaughlin will host the night session coverage on the main channel.
is this the first time that both Bruce McAvaney and Johanna Griggs be absent from the Open? I know that Griggs was absent last year due to the filming of House Rules, but cannot recall if Bruce was there or not (yes, shame on me for forgetting last year! lol)
Oh!!!7 are really scrapping the barrel with Mel

Surely Jim Wilson,Kylie Gillies, Basil Zempilas would be better prime time host
The schedule for Day 1 is out, main channel will be happy that both Fatso (Tomic) and the Clown (Kyrgios, could have called him something less family friendly) both playing.
Expect to see the following matches on the main channel at some stage on Day 1
- Tomic vs Belluci (MCA, 2nd match, probably from 12:30 ADST)
- Kyrgios vs Elias (MPV [HiSense], 6:30 start so they may even start that match on a secondary channel when 7 go to news and join in progress)
- Barthel vs Aiava (SC 2, 1st match)
- Melzer vs Federer (RLA, 2nd Night match)
- Sir Andy Murray vs Marchenko (RLA, 3rd Day Match, hard to say Sir Andy Murray but thatâs what he is)
- Beck vs Barty (MPV, 2nd match, depending on if Tomic is interested, looking at a possible 1PM start)
Then theyâll replay one of the MCA Night matches (likely Klizan vs Wawrinka, possibly Chirico vs Bouchard) after Federer.
Now if only 7HD was available in regional areasâŚwhatâs taking so long Prime7/GWN7 & 7Qld?!!
Where did Seven get the WTA Hobart International coverage?
From the commentary Iâd expect it to be on a British TV channel rather than 7Two.
The Hobart International was shown live on ESPN.
I believe so yes.
Joh wasnât absent last year, she hosted the morning session (she was absent in 2015).
Hamish has hosted the main channel prime-time session the past couple of years, before him it was Joh of course.
So looks like Mel has been promoted (probably due to Hamish being required to fill a lot of Bruceâs position in commentary)?
I also enjoy watching Jim Courierâs on court interviews with the winnng player after the end of a match, usually gets a few laughs from the crowd
