That guy could send you to sleep with his monotone unfortunately at least have some energy.

A 2-minute update and the only footage is of that little Tassie devil. What has happened to the updates??

Even loosely relevant file vision is better than looking into a presenter’s eyes for almost a full 2 minutes.

Yes these are produced without thinking of the audience in mind.

Monotone, non engaging to the audience, no vision, no wizz bang graphics like a revolving strap or a breaking news bar and stories that may have already appeared in other media.

Daniel Pizarro used to at least keep it creative with zoom interviews (at least on the few I saw) so the scope is there not to make these super boring.

Hopefully if 10 takes over production they won’t have the “who cares? They’re only regional news updates” mindset.

Even file vision could spice these updates, up. Very disengaging as you said. Having a crack at the presenter is harsh, but I agree with the commentary regarding his vocal ability. Very hard to be enthused to read for 2 minutes straight when there’s nothing to cut-away to.

The central west updates further up the page are of better quality with a decent amount of overlay footage.

Perhaps SCA were short staffed as I don’t think Zeke normally does the Wollongong updates plus SCA probably have even less care now they’ve offloaded tv than they have in the past.

Will be interesting to see what 10 does longer term.

Thats because they’re about achieving malicious compliance with the local content rules at best

It’s usually Will Boddy. Zeke usually fills in when his absent.

When Will presents it’s usually a bit better production wise.

Thank you. I added in what content i could.

Yes added vision was good, but he was still very awkward on air. I know these are entry level jobs but you’d think there would be someone overseeing them.

spot on, it’s just about doing them as quickly and cheaply as possible.

Ouch! I don’t think i was that bad!

You actually weren’t. I reckon you did a brilliant job at the noodle updates on SCA 10.

My recordings for @Radio_TVGuy’s montage, have some Canberra updates with Will. Those have at least relevant file vision.

It’s a real shame - with 10 now owning these stations they could work a little harder to improve these updates.

Then work with news directors in each state to actually insert these into the 5pm and 10pm bulletins

You were amazing (and still are!), @DJPizarro

Albeit incredibly unlikely - any uplift in effort is going to need resourcing that they are unlikely to have in-house at the moment.

10 should probably focus on fixing their metro news first

I just went through the late night recordings from 10 HD Wollongong on Good Friday, and guess what, as per this update (SPOILER ALERT), Zeke’s on-air again next week as well.

Yep, it almost looks like he’s reading a bedtime story rather than providing a local news update given the lack of almost any file vision footage and the way he presents the updates (at least for now). Hopefully overtime he’ll improve on his tone when reading the updates and maybe those noodle updates with him won’t be so boring to watch. Also 10 should still be filling in most of their Southern NSW/ACT noodle updates with file vision footage whenever Zeke is filling in instead of just showing him for almost the full 2 minutes.

Yes 10 owns them now, but according to @Bas_Tech, SCA is still operating the stations temporarily. SCA Access ads are currently circulating at the moment on the Network 10 stations in the 3-agg markets of Southern NSW/ACT and Regional VIC/QLD. Explains why these updates are still the way they currently are. I’m sure when 10 finally takes over the operation and control of these stations from SCA, they’ll probably likely provide the noodle updates from Melbourne, as the licensee of the 3-agg market stations is now Network TEN Melbourne Pty Ltd.
