Especially since The Daily Mail are a reputable source of news who definitely double check facts rather than pass stuff off from a random internet forum and then publish it as a genuine fact, complete with a headline that definitely isn’t one designed to attract clicks
“An industry insider said…”
Adding to the theories of news once 10 takes over responsibility from SCA. If they prefer a centralised location over pairing each state with their capital city, could Mount Coot-tha be an option? There’s certainly no limit on space.
Some MS users have suggested adding local control in Brisbane, while they’re at it why not build it out a little more to give them a news hub for regional updates as well?
This is what I suggested. Would be a good opportunity for them.
A control room in Brisbane is millions of dollar and the network has shown so far they can make it work (for at least 6 months of the year) with the way its currently working, it would have to be a pretty good business case for them to invest all that money into establishing one again.
Regional operations could potentially do well.
And Brisbane rating better than Melbourne half the time.
This is completely false. Brisbane has not outrated Melbourne at all other than a portion of the cyclone coverage???
Wasn’t there a portion where Brisbane was beating Melbourne in the last few months not including Alfred?
Might be mistaken
They’re revenue sharing profits for 5 years with SCA, and producing/paying for regional news updates is surely going to be a loss leader for them in the scheme of things. Not exactly a big money maker initially.
You really ought to be more careful about statements you post as fact, as Nicholas pointed out above - this is simply not true.
Initially. I mean TBF 10 did buy the regional affiliates aware of cost.
So they must have some knowledge or ideas to put into the bulletins.
Apologies - will fact check next time
Could percentages be higher but not actual viewing numbers (bums on seats)?
Is that even a thing? It’s certainly not a measurement we see, especially state vs state.
Anyway, this comment was not correct which was pointed out above.
Is the Tasmania Nightly News website from the SCA days or is it new?
From the SCA days - the links at the bottom (news editorial policy, terms and conditions, privacy policy) all link to SCA’s policies.
Just going through old posts. What are the sunrise graphics on the set used for?
I’ve always wondered that too. Im guessing they might of previously done local news inserts during Sunrise?
Not sure if they still do these, but they would film a couple of noodle updates the night before to be aired during the Sunrise ad breaks.
Pretty sure I’ve seen some recently. I don’t watch much in the mornings these days but I’m sure I’ve seen them in the last couple of months.
I know that “[insert greeting], I’m [presenter name] with your local 10 News Update” is pretty standard across the noodle updates, but am I the only one that finds it a bit stale and unnecessary?
The news brand is already in the title card and the supers. You also wouldn’t see that kind of phrasing on metro updates.
Perhaps “[insert greeting], I’m [presenter name] with your local headlines”, or simply “[insert greeting], I’m [presenter name]” would sound more polished?
