Seven & Ten News (SCA)

Just saw this part on the YouTube version of the bulletin, interesting they used the alternative camera angle for it. Not often they actually need to do the apologies… probably a good thing I guess!

Also could have been pre-approved leave too, not sure if he’s recently moved back as I think when he left he went to the mainland so any number of possibilities but having Murph behind the desk is always good.

If Daniel’s going on holidays at the end of the week, then yes.

oh then they should have used a larger studio rather than a broom cupboard!

wouldn’t have any bearings on 7Tas news.

Lol yep!

As a Tasmanian [and not a mediaspy member] I really don’t care if the 7Tas studio is in a shoebox, the backdrop isn’t local, the sports presenter is or isn’t at the desk or if the weather is presented by a journalist. I watch at 6pm most nights because I know I’ll get up to date local news. There’s a reason why 7Tas still has a live bulletin with presenters and reporters providing quality news right here in Tasmania every night and it’s why they’ve been rating as high as they have for the best part of 25 years. TNT9 has never had a ‘local’ backdrop in 62 years and I’m not sure what it would add to the bulletin or what the ’missed opportunity’ is to improve anything.

A broom cupboard? Did you see where Nine News Regional/Local came out from?

The 7 Tasmania set doesn’t seem much smaller than their previous offering. Similarly sized to what Seven and Nine have on the Gold Coast.

I can separate my nerdy geek inclinations from my actual human feelings!

Couldn’t have happened with our new control room and editing suites.

The studio isn’t a “broom cupboard”, but there’s not a lot of room we can use to extend the desk for extra people and we have to also have our cameras, TV screens, monitors, green screen, producer desk inside the studio at the same time.

Besides, we’re moving in the near future, so who knows what will happen.

Woohoo! Hopefully you get a Sydney set in your new studios. Do you know what year you move?

Won’t be for at least a year

Sorry mate but you’re delusional if you think a regional broadcaster will get anything close to the current Sydney set.

Their current set is aging very well, plus they have the duplicate already in Hobart. More than likely the current set will be moving with them.

Yep, couldn’t have said it better myself.

Nobody cares that it doesn’t look like the mainland sets, it looks more than decent and the quality is great compared to the opposition and many other regional bulletins. It doesn’t need anything that many people here keep banging on about - they truly won’t add anything to the quality or local feel of the bulletin.

it’s the same studio.

could have, I mean they could have done anything, but a decision was obviously made not to.

it’s a figure of speech for a small room, especially in comparison to a previously larger one.

It’s not the same studio. It moved into the renovated section of the building

Also, isn’t the bulletin the ratings leader by a mile? Viewers have clearly decided that they are happy with the product.

No it’s not. Nine made the bulletins themselves from their Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane bases. SCA had nothing to do with production.

A “broom cupboard” would be an actual tiny room like a TOSS or what NNL was crammed into, not a small-to-medium sized studio that can fit an actual set in it.

again, it’s a figure of speech…

“Same studio” is when i was referring to what we have in Launceston for 7 Tasmania,

the updates and 7Tas bulletin aren’t in the same studio??
