If you look around in the older suburbs of Melbourne, there are still some houses that have the old VHF antenna setups with the really long Channel 0 elements at the back of the antenna. Longer than the Channel 2 elements on more recent installs.

Actually it was 1986 that the Prime brand was used for the first time, but was referred to as “The Prime Network RVN-AMV” until 1989 when after their owners acquired Midstate Television and NEN9-8 Television that it changed to “Prime Television” and took large chunks of the Seven schedule.

Exhibit A. I understand Wagga Wagga and Albury local news were separate until an ill fated attempt in 1987 to merge which was quickly reversed. Wagga had 7 National News from Sydney while Albury took Melbourne’s bulletin.

Yes, but it was scripted for a current day audience, which has a presumed level of knowledge. Indeed, the writers didn’t for a moment think people might get confused with SBS.

One thing I have pick up on since Seven took over, the Ishop watermark has disappeared.

I noticed this on SpreeTV the other night too. I think the ishop watermark changed to black after the move to TPC.
Cannot think of a single person in Melbourne (including my parents who both vividly remember the swap) calling it that in 2022

Do we think the metro rebrand will happen sometime this month before the Winter Olympics in February, or sometime later in the year?
Surely Seven would want the change before more eyes are on their channels to get national exposure of the network branding? And changing before the Olympics would roll over into the start of the Supercars and AFL seasons.

Security now play this channel out from a laptop in Reception. It does not have branding capacity.
Maybe being this was a Prime owned channel, the IP did not transfer from PRT to SWM?
