Seven (Regional)

We’ll wait and see. Besides, it’s day 1 already for both Prime and GWN under Seven West Media, and they will need a lot of logistics upgrades and shifts to consider in the next few weeks.

They’re part of Prime7 and Seven’s standard graphics package, been around for a while. Different colours are used for different shows.

not every show has it for eg The Chase dosnt have it

Look, no offense mate, but there are not going to be any changes any time soon. That colour is not new.
Nothing will change straight away.

I will be interested to see if 7 does something about the insidious amount of TV shopping content Prime7 runs overnight - often 12.30am to 5am, 7 itself has less than half that. It even displaced the 5am news until not long ago.

suprised prime 7 had never used their watermark on sunrise lol

It’s because Seven gives Prime a dirty feed for Sunrise.

I hope not! I prefer to see the branding of Prime and GWN stick around for longer.

I don’t see why Seven would keep them around, the audience has had a Seven logo on their screens for two decades. Time to get rid of it now it has become O&O and run the dirty feed everywhere.

I’m sure they will pretty soon, but as what I always said previously, it’ll take time for Seven to put their new stations into a new playout facility, since Prime and GWN recently shifted to the Telstra playout centre just last year. To be honest, Southern Cross’ Seven affiliate stations took quite long after the Launceston and Hobart spaces were upgraded before Tasmania and their SA monopoly went in line with the Seven Network branding.

It’s just a matter of time, and Seven knows that.

no point keeping prime bug once primes business has been wound up and who still calls them prime7 lol i always just call them 7 since the relaunch in 2011 and added 7

I would say it’s half and half. You’ve got to remember that all viewers watch the actual programs, which are still watermarked as Prime7. Very few people would be identifying the channel based on promos or other commercial break material especially since idents became virtually non existent. If Prime7 sits at the bottom of the screen during all the shows they watch, that’s what they’ll call that channel (except maybe Imparja’s audience lol)

Heritage brands live on long after they’ve gone. Recently I told Mum that we (work) would have a story on 7 that night. Reply was “which channel is that?”. Southern Cross, over three years after changing to 7 Tas… surpassing that I know people that still refer to it as “Channel 9”! The Prime/GWN branding will disappear from screen but the brand itself will live on.

I was going to say, SC Tas is a good recent example. Although they blocked out nearly all references to Seven right up until their rebrand, so they would have had less viewers referring to it as ‘Seven’ than Prime7 does now.

Some old folks in my town still refer to GWN7 as VEW8. There are generations that will just take the name they learned early in their lives to their graves.

Some older people here including my Dad still refer to WIN SA as SES-8 some 22 years after WIN’s takeover!
