Seven News (Regional Vic/NSW/ACT/WA)

Oh okay, I’ve never seen him before.

Alas no. Seven Regional stopped producing weekend weather back around Easter. I gather he is still on the books as a fill-in presenter though.

Meanwhile Daniel Gibson is on leave as well as Kirstie (but not with Kirstie as he amusingly pointed out at the end of Friday night’s 6:30 news). Reuben Spargo has been presenting the 6:30 news this week.

Goes to show just how resourceful this site is! I’m in the Warrumbungles for a couple of nights and I wondered who he was when a news update came on!

And thanks @RedDragon for the info on Aspen too as I also saw a bit of the 7 Central West weather earlier and didn’t recognise him either.

Got both my answers within seconds of going to this thread! :+1:

Reuben presenting both 7 Central West Local AND the 6.30 bulletin tonight.

I always thought they would have had a different presenter for each bulletin.

Speaking of Reuben, they use the same presenter super seen here on the noodle updates instead of the super that’s normally used.

The presenter super normally used on the noodle updates:

Not anymore, they started using the same as the 6PM ones when Pip left.

Thanks for confirming, @sj2450 :slightly_smiling_face:

Based on 7plus it looks like he presented Wednesday night as well.

Maybe Daniel Gibson is off sick? Would make sense having the 6pm presenter stay on to fill in for the 6:30 bulletin straight after reading the Coast bulletin live.

Nick Hose read the 6pm bulletin on Wednesday night.

Not the best backdrop for Canberra… Not really a place for boats.

Wednesday weather (from WA):

Thursday weather:
(Weather “coming up” no longer shown in bulletin headlines - from Canberra)

Friday:

Monday:

Tuesday:

Wouldn’t surprise me if they eventually completely close up shop of bulletin production from WA and centralise to Canberra.

Noel is on break atm.

How much space do they have in the STQ studios?

It would make sense to centralise ‘regional’ production to one location if they were going to make a change. Would make it easier to share backup presenters, and you’d have the most efficiencies in production. Indeed even if you shifted regional WA alone, Queensland would be a better spot for it - 1 hour closer to WA in DST.

Probably easier to attract staff to the Sunshine Coast over Canberra (I’d personally pick Canberra, but I’m sure I’m a minority view there)

It would be warmer on Sunshine Coast

The video on catch up you could see the desk. Had something on it to stop reflection though you could see the 7news regional wa reflected on the desk

Yeah, sorry I cropped the image and missed the bottom a bit.

Lightning is much better from this location. WA always looks so washed out.

I can’t find any evidence of the horoscopes turning up on any of the regional bulletins. Not even the 6:30 national bulletin. The moon in Mercury is disappointed.
