we need to work out some things here, 1: what are the latest requirements for local news, 2: does 7 want cameras in regional areas that can feed breaking news into the relevant metro news (ie NSW regional into Sydney), how many staff would they need to do this, how many do they have now regionally? Would they go down the WIN or old 9 NEWS Local model and just have WIndows into larger metro bulletins. This has been talked about alot on Media Spy. I know in Albury they have 10 people based in the Albury Newsroom, do they need that many? can they do it with half that amount of staff for similar return on investment… that is ratings figures if viewers are already leaving FTA news anyway. Sorry for the long post, just some thoughts
i can get access to the ratings for regionally as a very good mate works in Sales in a regional TV site. Just can’t post them here without getting another warning, which is fair.
I’m actually enjoying the trio of Nick and Maddie reading the 7 Regional bulletin, and Kirstie on the weather. It’s nice to see good chemistry amongst colleagues.
Also going to throw some praise towards noodle updates presenter (and sometimes back-up weather presenter) Pip Waller as well - she’s been doing a great effort.
7 Regional has a great line up atm.
No ticker or ots graphics and the supers are rarely showing on 7 news border
A new “Know the news” ad just aired in the Central West featuring all presenters on location.
With 7news sydney being moved to its new facility. What is the chance if the news set is completely new that they move pieces of the old set to Canberra. Though i highly doubt it
More of a chance that Brisbane receives the elements. They desperately need it.
Perth would benefit as well. Though both probably need more than a new desk.

I love this! Local weather and fishing report… he is also promoting a local fishing show
Nick Hose filed a report tonight on The Latest. Is this normal considering he anchors the regional bulletin?
Hopefully it becomes a regular occurrence.
@moderators shouldn’t regional WA be included in this title)
Why was it changed?
Should we consider putting Regional WA in its own thread? Or do we need to keep it here since master control and ops are still intermingled?
This previously was the Prime7/GWN7 News thread, renamed when Seven took over
Still technically part of this operation so I’d just call it Regional VIC/NSW/ACT/WA. Barely generates any discussion.
Yeah, but it was changed less then 24 hrs ago from “Seven News Regional”
