Max Ghent presenting tonight’s 7NEWS Canberra noodle update. When will the updates finish for the year?

Today I believe as @Toddletoon mentioned in the Ten News Regional thread

But I was talking about the ex-Prime stations

Wouldn’t it be all regional updates nationwide?

It should continue as normal news doesn’t stop just because it’s Christmas.

Pretty much. Based on user screencaps, the only noodle updates not coming out of the Watson studios are for Central.

Calling the stations “ex-Prime” or “ex-SCA” is slowly becoming redundant as they grow more intermingled.

Could it also be possible to change the title of this thread to include SA & NT?

I saw a “Weather with Daniel Gibson” super in Canberra today. It had the same style as other Seven weather supers.

I hope the merger brings about a Seven News Newcastle bulletin. They have a successful radio station duopoly to learn on.And God knows Nine/NBN needs a kick in the arse.

A new bulletin is a nice idea, but with SCA management at the helm of the combined entity, I’d be surprised if all of the existing local bulletins survive. Certainly can’t see any new ones getting added.

Good to see Seven continuing the trend of sending their Canberra journos to file stories on the regional bulletins during the Christmas/New Year period :slightly_smiling_face:

Historically the presenter shots in these promos have been filmed in fairly generic-looking bits of Canberra which could be almost anywhere in the country. These ones on the other hand are all very identifiable as Glebe Park in Canberra with the closing group shot being on the other side of Bunda Street looking back towards Glebe Park.

Pan just a bit further right and the Crowne Plaza would come into shot. Walk any further forward and they’d be in the carpark of an apartment building. They picked a good time for it though as the no parking zone in front of the park entrance often has cars parked illegally, and there’s a fairly steady stream of traffic on that road a lot of the time, so they did well to find a moment with an absence of traffic and poor parking.

In the wake of what’s happening in Newcastle and northern NSW I somehow very much doubt that seven will introduce a Newcastle based 7 news bulletin anytime soon. If they didn’t do so for Canberra or Wollongong then I don’t believe that a Newcastle based bulletin will be likely to be introduced anytime soon. So it’s increasingly likely that Newcastle will be in the same boat as both Wollongong and Canberra

Although bringing back local production could attract viewers because knowing WIN, the Northern NSW News will be pre-recorded from Wollongong.

Another way to attract more viewers is by launching local streams on 7+. This will put them higher because knowing WIN & 9Now… the local NBN Streams could be pulled

Anyway… Seven covers it more local compared to NBN. Especially in the ‘Coast’ bulletin. It’s live & it is a fully local bulletin as the national stories are on at 6.30.

Still - No matter what happens. Seven is the best up on the North Coast (of NSW)
