in terms of news updates do 7 Regional NSW/ACT/VIC air 7 National news updates from Canberra or from the 7 metro stations? Because when I was watching 7two they air the 7 news updates from the metro stations and not from Canberra? Has it always been like that?

The markets which have full bulletins generally air the Canberra-made national updates. Markets which have local news updates generally air the metro-made national updates, although the local updates tend to cover up many of the national updates.
An odd exception to this is markets which don’t have a local bulletin or updates (eg. Shepparton) which take a bit of a mix of metro and Canberra-made national updates.
