Seven News Presenters and Reporters

I should add too that The Australian article last night noted that internal Seven research states that Ferguson is the audience’s preferred reader in Sydney, hence they’re sticking with him.

Watched the Roger Climpson special on 7Plus, actually a really good piece, a trip down memory lane and fantastic for any Aussie TV history buffs, excellent ATN archival work from the team at Seven who put it together.

Xander McGuire is the summer fill in hosting Triple M Breakfast radio in Melbourne. On his first ever radio shift had to cover the horrific Bondi shooting tragedy. He did an extraordinary job covering it with respect, care and delicacy. He is an incredible talent and Channel 7 should look to use him beyond just sport.

There is a follow up article in The Sunday Telegraph today, also saying Fergo will work four nights a week in 2026. It’s not certain if he will present Sunday to Wednesday, or Monday to Thursday.

TV news shake-up could see Fergo’s work week cut

Bizarre if true.

It will only be bizarre if they don’t reduce Angela to four days too. I find it more bizarre that they have dual anchors every night and that they resigned Mark.

But the thing is. If Seven sacks Mark, viewers would switch off. Leading to Seven possibly coming 3rd in Sydney behind Nine. Just a little bit further in this forum. It’s been reported viewers who tune in, prefer Fergo.

Yes, you would hope so with how much they invested in him. You will remember there was a period there that they were churning out Mark Ferguson promos and hitting the Mark alert so often.

Seven admitted there was a problem though when they added Angela.
