The arguement of Mark Ferguson not being able to handle live coverage can be rested. Fergo doing an outstanding job on the live coverage. I’m assuming Fergo was already there because of the News Updates. Hence they got Fergo to front the coverage instead of Musher. Rex Quall & Chris Reason on the ground covering the tragedy

Seven hit their ‘Musher must front the rolling coverage’ button at 8.30. Conveniently placed next to the ‘Mark Alert’ button. They could have ran Ferguson up to at least 9PM or even 9.30PM. Seven always ropes Musher in… when in fact he is handling the rolling coverage a little under par compared to Ferguson. Fergo handled it smoothly from 7.30 - 8.35. Although, wonder if Mark might pop up on Sunrise tomorrow?… or Fergo might pop up later during the coverage

According to The Australian’s Media Diary, some of Seven’s newsreaders will have their presenting duties reduced in an effort to cut costs.

Mark Ferguson will take a $150,000 haircut on his $750,000 a year deal, resulting in him working four days a week with Michael Usher expected to sit alongside Angela Cox on Thursday night bulletins.

Meanwhile in Perth, Rick and Sue will also be reduced to four days a week, saving the network roughly $250,000, with Tim McMillan to fill the void.

What an absolute schmozzle.

They could’ve saved more money had they kept their anchoring lineup to single presenters instead of double headers which aren’t working.

Sydney’s bulletin is just a mess isn’t it?

In all seriousness it makes sense for Rick and Sue to have their on-air presence reduced by one day given both will turn 67 and 74 respectively next year.

It sure is.. Here’s what they should do

Sun - Thu: Mark Ferguson

Fri - Sat: Michael Usher

Reverting to the 2016-2020 Lineup would fix the whole weather presenter chaos.

Looks like watching NBN News has been extended to 3 days for me.. Thu, Fri & Sat.

I know everyone says Musher is better… but even when he is in the chair, Seven still doesn’t win. I prefer Ferguson because he is straight to the point.

They do this… RIGHT after they tested Fergo on National, Rolling Coverage last night.. which he did an outstanding job

How much we all betting that the former user who shall not named, Is happy that they dumped Ferguson off a night.

Seriously.. How hard is it to understand, Musher isn’t going to fix the ratings, it could infact make it worse.

Viewers who are loyal to Ferguson will start to notice the change and will eventually switch off.

Just keep Fergo on Sun-Thu.. perhaps move Ange Cox to weekends.. and throw Musher onto reporting (sorta like Chris Reason).

And I will say it one more time; Dumping Mark Ferguson for Michael Usher won’t fix the ratings, it will make them worse

Mike Smithson is filling in this week in Adelaide, with Bruce Abernethy on sport.

When did Mylee Hogan return to Australia? She’s reporting at Bondi.

Possible she might be back for a holiday, but offered to come into work to assist with the coverage.
