These look quite nice. But the whole ‘Sarah returns’ campaign idea, like people know who she is, is funny
‘I was totally shocked’: Sarah Greenhalgh opens up for first time about replacing Sharyn Ghidella
Seven sent shockwaves through the network last year with the sudden axing of Sharyn Ghidella, now the woman who replaced her has opened up on stepping into her shoes, and her journey to motherhood.
In just over a year, Greenhalgh found out she was pregnant, moved from Sydney back to her hometown of Brisbane, stepped into the high-profile role of reading the 7News Queensland 6pm news bulletin while six-months-pregnant and spent three months in the job before going on maternity leave to welcome their son who arrived in February this year.
As she prepares to return to the newsdesk on Monday, Greenhalgh opens up for the first time on the rollercoaster journey that brought her back home.
Sarah was excellent as a reporter in various roles and both at home and overseas. She just needs time now to establish as the face of the 6pm news.
Agreed.
Quite possible she’ll have more maternity leave in the coming years. But wishing her longevity in the role.
IIRC, Melissa Downes went on maternity leave at least twice soon after taking the reins at QTQ in 2009, including towards the end of that year when they moved into the 2009-17 set.
So nothing new for Sarah.
Good to know that Sarah isn’t returning just for one night but every night.
In all seriousness, the “every night” tag Seven News has started using in promo endboards is really redundant.
The new Clint Stanaway, working every day given to her.
Seven breaking into programming with Mike Amor to cover Victoria Police announcement of a $1 million dollar reward that leads to a arrest of Dezi Freeman.
Any caps?
Who is that reporter?
That’s Ainsley Koch
Saw this photo in Fiona Byrne’s column in Sunday Herald Sun on August 24. It showed (left to right) Bethan Yeoman, Estelle Griepink and Cassie Zervos who are expecting.
Sarah Greenhalgh’s return didn’t go so well last night. The 162,000 rating was 75,000 behind Nine, 14,000 lower than the previous week and the lowest rating so far this year for a Monday bulletin on Seven Brisbane.
Not surprised by the underwhelming result. Also not helped by The Chase drawing half the audience of Tipping Point in Brisbane.
Looks like a lot of work required to claw back lost audience.
Geez. Not good. Quite a big gap between 7 & 9.
