Seven News Presenters and Reporters

They have sacked their afternoon news sport presenter.

Huh? Are you referring to Sean leaving Seven, or the role being phased out so the newsreader does it too?

What am I missing?

I was referring to Ann Sanders being sacked, so with no afternoon sport presenter, I said they’ve been sacked too.

Sorry me again…but is it possible that Ann has been moved off the Morning News permanently? It seems unusual for her to anchor one bulletin but not the other IMO…

Would also fit in with the scaling down of duties that often comes with the transition to retirement (I.e Mal Walden on Ten in 2013).

Perhaps she just has commitments in the morning this week and could only do afternoons.

If it happens in the long term then maybe.

and Ann Sanders presented Sydney’s Afternoon News.

I reckon it’s too early to tell whether this is a permanent change, it should probably be clearer if this happens again next week as others have said.

As I said in an earlier post, something tells me that this may be part of a ‘transition to retirement’ plan. This is not dissimilar to what Ten Melbourne did in 2013 with Mal Walden…having him read 4 days a week for the first half of the year, then 3 days for the remainder. Ann has read two bulletins 4 days a week for the past few years now, so perhaps now this is the next step only reading 1.

Ok - until there is any definitive proof this is happening, I’m calling a stop to the speculation on this matter. Enough.
