Does that really work though? If viewers haven’t warmed to Mark in the past decade he’s been on 7, and not to mention his time on 9, surely this type of stunt is a waste of everyone’s time?

Titmus, who spent the past three years hosting the network’s 5.30pm Gold Coast news alongside Amanda Abate before the shock decision by station management to pull the plug this week, will take over next month from Shane Webcke who has decided to step away from the full-time duties.
Many staff who worked on the Gold Coast team have been offered positions as part of a streamlined Glitter Strip bureau or at the station’s Queensland headquarters in Brisbane, but there were some casualties, following on from a round of job cuts in July, which included popular weather presenter Paul Burt and a number of news production staff.
Webcke has previously confirmed his intention to step away from full-time presenting to focus on his family business, but will remain part of the network’s stable of experts during the NRL season.

Hopefully now the team will align and Steve will do Monday to Friday with Max, Sarah and Tony. Sam, Ben/Alissa (I actually don’t know who is weekend sports) and Michelle on weekends.

Also not at Seven. He also lives in Brisbane. Nine Gold Coast would run News promos like “Where our team actually lives on the Gold Coast” or words to that affect.
Does he? 7News’ article says
“The plan is to continue to live on the Gold Coast and my passionate involvement with the local community.”
