I thought the main reason the 5pm bulletin moved to Queensland on Saturdays was because Amber Laidler had started presenting Sydney weather on Saturdays, and she is obviously not going to present the 5pm news, like Sally Bowrey did previously when she used to do Sydney weather on Saturdays as she’s an actual newsreader.

I’d say that’s right. When Angie went on maternity leave too, Samantha was coming off maternity cover and Neil Warren was being eyed off for the Sydney news. All favourable if a reporter wanted to negotiate more presenting time. I think Samantha would be happy if she gets the 4pm news now

On another note, before long-time senior reporter who’d become a rising star presenter Emily Angwin departed a few years or so back, a leak was published in the Herald Sun Confidential, detailing that Angwin sent a memo to Scrivens on behalf of herself and other mostly women journos from the HSV-7 newsroom, that working conditions had been unfair and it was in a not too professional tone either. She left not long after for a plum overseas anchor gig.

Andrea Nicolas presented morning and afternoon news in Adelaide on Monday and Tuesday. Tom Wilson did sport during both bulletins on Monday, and in the morning on Tuesday and Wednesday. Josh Money did Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon sport. Tom also read the morning news on Wednesday, with Mike Smithson reading the afternoon news. Gertie Spurling reading both on Thursday and Friday, with Andrew Hayes presenting sport.
Mike Smithson presented 6pm Monday-Thursday, with Bruce Abernethy presenting sport. Andrea Nicolas did Friday, with sport presented by Tom Wilson.
Casey Trealor did weather during 4pm and 6pm news on Monday and Wednesday to Friday, while Gertie Spurling did it on Tuesday for both.
