Apps aside, there’s at least one other journo I know that has worked at all three networks, in Sydney at least, this century - Adam Walters. Though I don’t know if he’s still at 10.
Seems to be at Sky now?
In September 2021 Walters was appointed as Brisbane Bureau Chief for Sky News Australia.[25]
He’s also adopted a right wing crazy slant too.
The day side programming at sky is not differentiable from the prime time opinion shows. They try to be non bias but the language is loaded. It’s a disaster.
Melbourne reporter Sara Jones is 20 weeks pregnant
Perth Presenter and reporter Amelia Broun is expecting her 3rd boy in January.
Something hit Deanna Williams in the head right at the start of her cross last night.
Can’t see what it was, but she carried on like a pro…
Looks like it was a bird
Melbourne reporter Estelle Griepink is now on maternity leave.
Nat Yoannidis went from 10 to Seven and then Nine (where she’s currently at) in the space of 12 months I think.
Saturday 7 October and Sunday 8 October -
Rebecca Maddern presenting solo in Melbourne tonight, with Andrew McCormack on sport.
Former SBS Journalist Lucy Murray as return home to Perth and joined 7 News .
According to The Daily Telegraph, Michelle Bishop and Seven executives have amicably agreed for her to step down as the network’s Chief Rugby League reporter. Jelisa Apps is expected to increase her role covering rugby league on the 6pm bulletin. Meanwhile, Bishop will remain at Seven working on Sunrise and continuing as a rugby league reporter on SEN radio.
Interesting I think as I said recently in the Sunrise thread that she should replace Mel McLaughlin as the main sport presenter on Sydney’s 6pm News but joining Sunrise is interesting.
The article makes it sound like her contract with Seven has ceased and the work for Sunrise will be in a freelancer capacity.
I see this change as a downgrade for the news so it seems it as an odd move. Michelle has pretty good connections with NRL players and is a good presenter.
Yeah she’s a freelancer at SEN technically so assuming this is the same arrangement. She obviously just wants to scale back a bit and focus some more time on something else.
Saturday 14 October -
Rebecca Maddern presenting solo in Melbourne tonight. She also reads sport.
Would’ve thought they’d have Bec & Mike both front & center tonight for such a big news day.
Mike’s on leave
It was rare to see Rebecca Maddern reading sports news last night, with Abbey Gelmi, Laura Spurway and Andrew McCormack all unavailable.
Blake usually fills in if they have no one but he was on location for tonight news.
