No way Basil will stand down himself considering the hit it would take to his publicity.
The only way I see him going is if he is “forcibly removed 
” (making reference to his opinion piece from a few months ago where he says he will forcibly remove the homeless if that’s what it takes).

After his comments, Mr Zempilas’ family home was also graffitied.
A protest against Mr Zempilas has been organised at Stirling Gardens for Saturday afternoon, with hundreds indicating on Facebook they would be attending.
LGBTQ activists have also revealed plans to attend next week’s council meeting to call on elected members to move a censure motion against Mr Zempilas.
A spokesman for Seven West Media declined to comment.

They should just give Matt Carmichael the Friday/Saturday sports presenting job permanently. He deserves an on-air role considering how long he’s been with the network reporting. He also works well with Musher and Angie.
This would give Matt Shirvington more time to focus on other projects for the network such as Holey Moley, Ultimate Tag, the Olympics etc.

Interesting that the lead story on 9 in Melbourne tonight didn’t air on 7 until 6.22pm.

Looks like they’ve reverted back to the Mon-Fri/Sat-Sun split for their 6pm presenters.
If that’s the case, then the 4pm news roster would be Mike from Monday to Wednesday and Jacqui on Thursday and Friday.
