Personally, I seem to prefer this layout for Seven News Melbourne. It didn’t work well with Mitch on Fridays and Mike on Sundays.

I agree, Mike would be thrashed by Alicia on Sunday nights. Considering Sunday nights is one of the biggest rating news nights, it makes sense to put Mitch on.

To be fair, I think Mel’s the one causing the awkwardness. She’s better off doing general sports coverage, and I think Mark would have a better go at banter with Matt Shirvington.

If they ever do that though, David Brown would be replaced by a female presenter.
I can’t see Seven having an all-male line-up, even though IMO Fergo, Shirvo and Brownie would make the strongest bulletin.
