Journalists who are interested in being proper journos for life don’t become faces of malls and go on dating shows. She’s clearly more interested in something more. All power to her but let’s not pretend.

How ridiculous.
There are plenty of examples of journalists and news presenters who have hosted or been on shows for networks outside of news and current affairs, plenty of them are also ambassadors for various companies / brands / products or even spruiking what clothes they’re wearing on a daily basis. No difference IMO.
It’s 2021, catch up.

I see this point of view, but I guess they don’t need to boost their profile. Also this promoting things on Instagram seems like a “new generation” thing.
The irony with Georgia Love is, everyone knew who she was from The Bachelorette so when she did something stupid everyone knows about it. Had she been some random Journalist from Ten Perth then nobody would have cared as much or received as much publicity.
Serious journalists would stay away from promoting due to conflicts (ie- Check out my new Katies dress on Instagram and see how Katies are underpaying employees Tonight at 6").
It’s interesting 7 Melbourne have taken this stance given their stable of negative sensationalist reporters that we are subjected to every day / night.

It might’ve been orders from head office in Sydney because of James Warburton’s statement of “racism will not be tolerated” after the incident with the Facebook post a couple of months ago.

Georgie Gardner narrated “Married at First Sight” for several seasons, and Natasha Exelby was on “I’m a Celebrity”. It hasn’t impacted their reputations.
