Mel McLaughlin has even less chemistry than Mark. And does not go pff script that well.
Am not liking the Mark Angela duo atm.

In the words of Mel, ‘love this dream team’.
It’s absolutely true that Ange has more charisma, but maybe that’s exactly what Mark needs.
Pretty strong start for night one together.
It’s certainly an improvement. While Mark appears less authoritative, his kind personality seemed to shine more with Ange around. It’ll be interesting to see if the numbers shift.
What will be interesting is if they give this change proper time to bed in before making a rash decision. Aka… a year?!
Just out of curiosity, has Fergo ever been in a dual presenter role before?
Might explain why he is a bit uneased tonight (even though he already struggles during the banter with Mel and Angie).
Surely now is time to replace Mel and chuck someone in there with some charisma
Only once with Chris Bath when news of the Malaysia Airlines crash was breaking.
That banter is awkward. Perhaps best to avoid it, even if Ange is livening up the bulletin.
According to The Australian’s Media Diary, Melbourne sports presenter Tim Watson’s contract is up at the end of the year, and Tim has indicated he is ready to leave. Insiders say he is well and truly ready to pass the baton on to someone else, and names floated at Seven to replace him include former AFL players Joel Selwood and Trent Cotchin.
I thought Bec Maddern was supposed to be moving to sports? Or was that just another one of those definitely true rumours put out by the newspapers? ![]()
This is a joke right?
Who does weekends?
Maybe this is their chance to refresh for next year and move Mike and Bec to weekdays with a new sports presenter and move Mitch to weekends.
Abbey Gelmi. Not exactly a Tony Jones or Clint Stanaway.
I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s some truth to this. If Selwood and/or Cotchin get the flick from Talking Footy and/or game coverage to make way for Kane Cornes and others, then they need something to do to serve out their contract. Is it a good idea, probably not, but Seven might not have much choice.
If they could get Clint that would be a major coup and might align with his radio schedule, but Abbey seems well accomplished and would be a nice to have another female presenter in sports.
It was from the Daily Mail ![]()
This is Seven we’re talking about, their unstoppable apparently
I think some would be mindful about jumping ship to a Network like 7. Especially if one has a comfortable contract and routine at 9.
Perhaps just use Blake.
They have many reporters that can fill the role. Abbey, Laura, Theo, Andrew McCormick and Blake. I highly doubt they’d need to poach another presenter to do it.
