I have a theory that for a variety of reasons, a different group of people, largely, watch the 6pm news on weekdays to those who watch it on weekends. Weekday viewers might be out on the weekends so only watch Monday to Friday bulletins, and similarly, those who work late into the afternoon/evening might only get the opportunity to watch the 6pm news on Saturdays and Sundays.
So I wonder if those who only watch the news on ‘weekdays’ aren’t used to a double header (Mike & Bec), so have made the switch to a single reader with Alicia Loxley on Nine this week and Nine are winning in Melbourne this week.

He’s the weatherman. They don’t normally travel. I’ve never seen Angie Asimus, Amber Sherlock, Sally Bowery or Belinda Russell travel for weather news.
I guess because of Cyclone Jasper in Far North Queensland they needed to get Tony Auden out of holidays as he’s a meteorologist.
