Seven News Presenters and Reporters (2020-Feb 2025)

Yep, I guess that Seven want to be as close to the action as they can.

Reminds me of when Jim Wilson presented Sydney’s sport from inside the MCG on AFL Grand Final day last year, and I can only imagine that Nine would’ve only had reporters from outside the MCG and not inside the ground itself, since Seven have the broadcast rights.

Na not you man haha

I meant it makes no sense for reporters and presenters to just stand outside stadiums when their network doesn’t have the TV rights.

Just looks weird.

Yeah, I think it’s just a case of enthusiasm. Honestly, the way I see it, it does make her suitable for sports presenting and reporting. Not such a big issue.
There’s plenty of other things on Melbourne’s bulletin to be annoyed about…

God forbid the sports presenter displays a modicum of personality and shows some enthusiasm for her team that happens to be playing in the finals. There are a couple of beige presenters in Sydney who might be more to your liking if Jacqueline Felgate is looking to transfer.

This is actually great!!!

All the hate for Jac is so uncalled for.

Completely agree, I’m not sure why she gets so much hate on this forum.

She’s passionate, hard-working, good at her job and liked by executives. What’s not to like?

It was a tightly-fought race between the media personality and former journalist Di Bain, with the pair separated by just a few hundred votes.

Mr Zempilas received 1,855 votes, or 29.44 per cent of the vote, compared to Ms Bain’s 1,571 and 24.94 per cent.

The new Mayor and councillors will be sworn-in at a ceremony at Government House on Monday afternoon.

Jacqueline Felgate did a photoshoot for Sunday Herald Sun last week ahead of her debut as Brownlow Medal co-host tonight.

Zempilas said on 6PR this morning that he’ll only present sport on Monday’s and Wednesday to Friday with Tuesday’s set for City of Perth council meetings. He’ll be up against Nine’s Matthew Pavlich one night a week.

I’m not a big fan of her presentation style but I’d rather her showing some enthusiasm and passion at THE END of the bulletin rather than Ferguson being boring and robotic.

Perhaps her enthusiasm distracted you from the hopes of a long closer?

I thought that would happen with his council meetings taking place on Tuesday’s.

I assume that Adrian Barich will do Tuesday sport, in addition to weekends.

Ann Sanders also read the sport in the Morning News today.

Most likely Ann did it because no one else was available, i.e. Matt Carmichael being in Bathurst covering the Bathurst 1000, Jacqui Felgate probably having a rest after hosting last night’s Brownlow Medal etc.

Blake Johnson is presenting Melbourne’s Afternoon News.

Personally, I don’t understand why there are sports presenters in the first place. Only the flagship bulletins need one. Anyone can read the autocue, so why pay someone to read 3 minutes of content?

Probably to give a point of difference to Nine.

Zempilas should step back from presenting on weeknights. They need someone who will commit Monday to Friday. Perhaps an off air role with fill in presenting and footy commitents to keep his prescence on Seven?

Time will tell whether the workload becomes too much for him.

I think he’ll want to stay on weeknights to keep up his high profile, plus it pays well. He’d be getting a pay cut from Seven if he shifted to the weekend sports role.

I gave up on hoping for long closers about five years ago now. They never happen :frowning:

I listened to that audio this morning and I took it as he will only have Tuesday nights off when there are council meetings, not every week.
