Wednesday 15 January to Friday 17 January-
Natalie Barr presenting Early News .
Monday (13.01.2020): Laura Dymock did Brisbaneâs weather.
Tuesday (14.01.2020) - Saturday (18.01.2020): Paul Burt is presenting Brisbaneâs weather.
New political reporter at 7, Taylor Aiken.
Taylor Aiken is a new to Seven Newsâ Canberra bureau on a permanent basis, but she had been filing reports in Sydney for quite some time.
Any word on what Melissa Doyle is doing in 2020?
Thursday 16 January-
Chris Reason is presenting Morning News and National Afternoon News today.
Hopefully somewhere in news. She absolutely deserves a permanent position in their newsroom compared to others (Ferguson etc.)
Wouldnât surprise me if she leaves.
I believe she is still on contract⌠so at the very least she should be part of the Olympic team.
Sally Bowrey was back reading the morning news (and will also present the National afternoon news). Jim Wilson was on sport.
Note Iâve only just returned from overseas.
Friday 17 January & Saturday 18 January-
Chris Reason is presenting in Sydney.
Big news from Adelaide!
Gertie Spurling has announced at the end of tonightâs weather that she is, wait for it, PREGNANT!!! The other big news is that Amelia Mulcahy will RETURN to Seven News Adelaide weather from Monday. Congrats to Gertie!
I can barely contain my effervescent fervour
Blake Johnson is presenting in Melbourne this weekend.
With Sean Sowerby presenting sport.
Mark Ferguson returns tomorrow night according to promos on 7.
Great. Another reason not to watch Seven News Sydney this year.
If only the rumour that Michael Usher becoming Seven News Sydney anchor was trueâŚ
While Iâm not surprised that Fergoâs return is coinciding with Peter Overtonâs and the new graphics on Nine, itâs still rather disappointing that Michael Usher only got two or three weeks in the main chair!
Itâs definitely a big mistake.
Mark has had over 15 years to prove himself in the main chair, time to give someone else a go.
I agree, but there must be people at Seven who like Mark Ferguson if theyâre willing to persist with him for a new decade despite the fact that Michael Usher scored them their only ratings period win of 2019!
Of course this is probably to be discussed in the other thread, but whatâs the bet Seven will also try and spoil the Nine News rebrand by launching some (no doubt half hearted) graphics updates of their own tomorrow night? We all saw how Seven reacted to Nineâs 2017 set launch by bringing in a âBreaking Newsâ mode for the set basically after seeing the rival networkâs promo!
I really donât think Nineâs graphics update is as a big deal of what you think it is.
There are much bigger problems at hand for Seven.
No doubt the average viewer doesnât care or in some cases, even really notice.
But of course, Nine wouldnât spend what I suspect are not insignificant amounts of money on new graphics every few years if they didnât see any value in keeping their brand fresh!
I agree, but it seems highly unlikely that the burning issues of content & Mark Ferguson will be addressed anytime soon!
