Angela Tsun did a few of the last Afternoon Updates, but she sounded under the weather possibly with a sore throat as her delivery sounded softer than usual.
Ryan Daniels seems like a good fit as a fill-in Presenter, I think it’s the first time he has.

Wednesday- Joel Dry

One of the great veterans of Australian television.
Had Kay McGrath not been bumped to weekends in 2013 (a decision which she said she was happy with at the time), then she would’ve also brought up 30 years as co-weeknight presenter of Seven News Brisbane this year.
Late next year, Peter Mitchell will bring up two decades as weeknight presenter of Seven News Melbourne. Glad HSV-7 stuck with him through the tough times (think the early noughties and most of this decade), in fact I believe he was on the brink of being replaced by Sandy Roberts (who instead became the sports presenter in 2005) in late-2004.
Did Sandy Roberts do some newsreading in late 2004? I swear there was a video of a few years ago on YouTube with him presenting news after the Boxing Day Tsunami.
Yes, I recall Sandy Roberts presenting Seven News during the 2004 Christmas period, but that video (among with many others) may have since been taken down.
Sandy Roberts did read the news in the early 80s, he also filled in on the national 4.30 News for David Johnson. This was around 2004. I don’t recall him filling in for a Peter Mitchell.
The main fill in presenters over the past 20 years for Peter Mitchell have been Jennifer Adams, David Johnson, Jennifer Keyte, Rebecca Maddern, Mike Amor and most recently Blake Johnson.
I also recall Mitchell himself filling in for David Johnston on the 4:30 news at least once, before the 2004 brand relaunch.
After being moved on in November 2000, DJ continued to present Seven News Melbourne intermittently, including on AFL Grand Final Day in 2002 (credit to matt01video):
