Seven News Presenters and Reporters (2015-Sept 2020)

Not national on sat either not in Perth tennis coverage is on from 3.30

Well, I mean the 5PM news that is designed to be national, whether or not all markets can receive it due to live sporting commitments is a completely different matter.

Amelia Broun presenting on Saturday in Perth this weekend. Saturday news started at 9:45 PM immediately following men’s doubles final match but before their presentations.

Paula Voce presenting on Sunday in Perth this weekend. Sunday news started at 8:06 PM immediately following men’s singles final presentations before Roger went to speak to Hamish.

I actually think this is a good move. Seven will probably find that Sunday will be Peter’s best performing night, because he isn’t against Hitch on Nine.

I doubt Seven will win, but I think the gap will be closer (unfortunate because I think Jen is a much more capable anchor).

Although if Seven News Melbourne successfully manages to lift the ratings on Sunday nights with Peter Mitchell at the helm, I’d be very surprised if Nine didn’t very quickly react by changing their presenter roster to have Hitch presenting the news on Sunday-Thursday and Loxley on Friday/Saturday.

Matt Carmichael presenting sport in national morning news on Tuesday & Friday this week.

Seven News Sydney with Mark Ferguson, Monday 29th Jan - 276,000
Nine News Sydney with Peter Overton, Monday 29th Jan - 247,000

With those numbers for Seven News on a clear ratings night, the presenter on Seven News is clearly not that bad.

Tell me that when Seven News has numbers like that for the next 21 weeks.

For 29,000 more Sydneysiders to choose to watch Seven News over Nine News on one of the biggest ratings nights, the point I make is that the presenter on Seven is surely not as ‘hopeless’ as most forum goers claim him to be. Just ask Sydney

If the OzTam ratings system is anything, it shows that Sydneysiders obviously like Peter Overton and Deborah Knight more than Mark Ferguson and the ratings prove that. You can’t just use a day’s worth of ratings to say that he isn’t a bad anchor. What about all the nights he lost?

My post signifies that he is not an incompetent presenter as everyone here claims. Well, obviously not as more people have tuned in to see him on a Monday ratings night rather than Nine News. I’m also not claiming that he’s number 1. My point that the gross dislike for him here and the constant mocking of his ‘new man’ worthiness is…well wrong and definitely unsupported.

How many times do we have to say this? He isn’t completely incompetent, just that he is incompetent in his role as the 6pm news anchor.

When the halo effect of the tennis final has dissipated and ratings return to normal, would you be willing to admit viewers sampled the product and decided they preferred Nine’s offering?

Seven News has the odd win in the Sydney ratings but Ferguson clearly doesn’t have the appeal or pulling power to hold on to those viewers.

Seven News last night at 6pm rated stronger than Nine News. Just reminding you that this was hosted by Mark Ferguson and this was also at 6pm.

It appears you guys are all very well versed on Mark Ferguson’s presenting style, even to the more finer details. I smell avid viewers of Seven News with Mark Ferguson on this forum. Thank you for helping him rate guys. He appreciates your viewing support. @MBB @SydneyCityTV @NewsWeary @Tom_TV7

I don’t see the Sydney bulletin, and you’ve yet to answer my question… diversion means an admission of “spin”

And you don’t have any idea how OzTAM ratings work they aren’t accurate. It is a guide and mostly averages … 28,000 people could actually be 2 people that have a OzTAM box equating to that figure.

I’m more than sure you contribute to the ratings of the Seven News Sydney bulletin at 6 via it’s online platform, so again, thank you. He really isn’t that bad hey? The content has also gone a full 180 and really increased in quality the last few years. Viewers are realising this too.

You can’t watch it on the “online platform” if you are interstate.
And those figures aren’t added to the overnight ratings that you quote either. It’s a seperate measurement.
