The Martin Place studios back then were evacuated and news was presented from an OB for Sydney viewers. When the siege reached its dramatic end, it was done out of Perth’s old Dianella studios
(Pardon the quality of the cap) Mike Smithson on Seven’s National News - notice they’re using the live backdrop on the main set. Looks 100x better than the pre-rendered, outdated image they currently use in their bulletins.
This NRL Insider chat that just aired on Seven News QLD was way too long. Save those for Sunrise. This is the news not a chat show.
Is Big Brother watching the people of Sydney?
Today marks one year since Pet of the Week segment was launched on the Melbourne bulletin. Tyra Stowers said that during the period, 42 pets had been adopted from RSPCA Victoria.
Are we celebrating anniversaries for segments now?
I’m sure Johnson’s point was more the amount of adoptions in the time since the segment launched, not the anniversary of the segment itself.
No pet of the week in Perth ![]()
Petrol crisis. Dirty fuel. What crap sensationalist scaremongering .
Seven News Melbourne social team getting some insane engagement lately, globally, first with Paul Dowsley’s unintentionally (?) hilarious exclusive on the outside club fight with the chair throwing and now with their report on the Vietnamese medical student who got off after filming women in bathrooms which has also been quoted by Elon Musk.
They also noticed and mentioned it last night:
The thing is that story was only filed by Seven. Nine did not make an equivalent report, despite initially breaking this story (first no-conviction) as an exclusive 6 months ago.
Now if you want to talk about it, you’d have to cite Seven. And that’s how they get the engagement boost.
No 9 did have their own report of it. I’ve seen 9melbourne report too
https://x.com/9newsmelb/status/2032354012100432097?s=46
9’s report has 101k views
7’s report has 3.4millliom views
Also 9’s report was uploaded to their Twitter at 6:12pm 13/3 while 7’s was 30mins later at 6:47pm 13/3
Well, that’s interesting. Nine broke this story so by extension, they should be getting the traffic.
But Seven wrote a longer description, so maybe that’s why.
And don’t forget $250 fuel vouchers they giving away
Good to see some effort is being put in, instead of the boring still zoom shots.
