Gold Coast bulletin during heavy rain tonight
The rain compliments the studio.
Yes, shit and depressing.
However Nine Gold Coast is worse.
It’s not that bad!
They obviously have limited space, and they’ve used it well.
Yes, I just wish they didn’t take design elements from the Brisbane studio.
But if they didn’t some would say they were inconsistent…
It’s always been weird that the 4pm news uses OTS on the actual backdrop but the 6pm news has only ever used old style floating OTS graphics.
Using 3 slightly different versions of the 7 News GC logo is messy.
The watermark should probably just animate between .com.au and Gold Coast IMO.
No need to have Gold Coast on the Sport version either, they could use the 7 Sport logo I guess.
I still really hate the sliding glass panel look on the screen in front of the desk, it looks so dated.
Change of fortune in Adelaide yesterday with Hot Seat on Nine beating the renewed Seven Afternoon Edition local news. Nine Afternoon News that followed was up week-on-week but the change was not reflected when it came to 6pm with Seven’s winning margin unchanged.
Looks like some damage has happened…
Haven’t come here with positive feedback for a while but that Melbourne 4pm opener was superb. Been a long time since I’ve seen one with effort and not error riddled.
Mike Amor really shines outside the studio.
He was walking through the streets of Yarraville at the start of the opener talking to camera, then read the headlines, followed by the titlecard and Mike standing in place in an outdoor dining setting.
The coverage also so far this bulletin, except for all-about-me Paul Dowsley drinking beer on air, has been superb.
I reckon Seven needs to promote that their 4pm bulletin is back on air. Nine are still running the ‘They’ve switched to Melbourne’ promos so some might still think they’re running the Melbourne bulletin.
They could even promote themselves by saying ‘They think they’re more committed by telling you we moved to Melbourne, but that is too far from the truth’, but knowing them they won’t.
At this stage, that seems too far-fetched for their news promo, and audiences wouldn’t be impressed by the game of blaming the other network.
Looks far more appropriate for an afternoon bulletin than the 6pm one.
Indeed
Amor is a gun and could take over from Mitch tomorrow if he had to. News presenters in 2020 need to be able to do what he does - he was all class during the bushfires as well when he went on location. Mitch is very limited in that regard.
Seven News Adelaide was well ahead of Hot Seat across the hour on Wednesday.
Think Amor is better suited to being a senior field reporter/correspondent rather than as an anchor
