They lowered the angle of the camera and had a closer shot in the latest newsroom cross.
Still seem to be working things out? Or is it musical chairs?
Anne is at the desk for a couple of updates early in the afternoon
Then Mark does an update standing in the studio, that Anne seems to have vacated
Found her - Anne is in the newsroom
Then Anne is back at the desk for the afternoon news
But then Mark is in the studio too during the news while Anne has gone missing from the desk
Oh - she’s back again
But Mark is now in the newsroom
Or is he?
That reporter live shot box looks weird. Go the whole damn panel!
So Angie only reads 6pm weather now? Weird. Don’t know why they want to torture viewers with Amber Laidler.
Where is this?
Was she on maternity leave?
What’s wrong with Amber? I don’t live in NSW.
The two shot of Fergo and Kadak looks odd. Kadak needs to be in sport position and Fergo where Kadak is.
Need to look across the desk, not directly to the left of you.
Perth!!
Good to see they’re really making the most of that big set, hopefully it stays this way
They really need to calibrate the screens on the left. The colours are way too red, you can see when they do the live cross the people are pink and the weather images have the red tinge
I was actually saying that it looks better on-camera than in the BTS shots.
I don’t live in Perth or watch regularly, but when I caught a bulletin or two last year they were doing this. I think it has been since they updated the ‘set’.
Looks like someone is covering the camera
I noticed that too
But that video really helps you gage the size of the set!
I thought it would be the same size as Nine Sydney. Wish that lighting grid goes up like in a inch
Compare to Nine and Ten Sydney. Their lighting grid are way more up than Seven.
If they’re thinking savvy and have people BTS who care enough, Seven could cheat their way into giving Regional NSW and WA an upgrade.
Think, build a matching or downsized desk and a scaled-down portion of backdrop for desk shots (think NBN News but better).
Then stand presenters in front of chroma key for standing shots “in-studio” like below (think WIN News weather).
Samantha Jolly used to work for Ten and was becoming a rising star in 2009 and 2010 filling-in for Narelda Jacobs, before defecting to Seven where she ended up doing the same (alongside Blake Johnson - who moved to Melbourne) and still is today. At Ten, she was replaced by Chiara Zaffino, who departed in the end of 2020/first COVID year redundancies which also included a short run stint by former Seven Perth TT anchor Monica Kos and 10 Perth stalwart Tim Gossage.
