I like it.
Nice spot. But the “network” entertainment font looks so wrong for a news promo. It’s not the right font or feel for news. But it’s been show horned in, as it’s the “network” font.
Wrong
Mitch looks kind of sad though?
Because he knows his bulletin is rubbish and they’re losing to Nine.
As far as awkward looking Promo/Update Endtags are concerned, I think Fergo still wins:
All those are obviously from the last few years. To say the least, they’re very awkward poses (especially compared to Michael Usher in the endtags they’re together in) for promotional shots that are supposed to be seen on television hundreds, if not thousands of times!
By contrast, Peter Overton generally looks authoritative and confident in the equivalent promotional material for Nine News Sydney.
I quite like that version of The Mission.
I quite like that and that version of The Mission.
I love how the glass actually acts… like glass!
“What will get us back to normal?”
“Melbourne News”
Can someone explain to me how the news is going to get us back to normal?
It’s an OK promo, but in the words of George Harrison on The Simspons, “It’s been done”
A lot of spill on Susannah’s face and in her hair from the green screen. Their keying isn’t great, is it?
Pretty bad. You’d think they’d be able to do it after all this time…
Do many of their weather presenters use green screens around the country?
I haven’t watch 7 for a while, but I thought their morning news “weather centre” was done on a green screen, and it looked much better than that
Do they do a set wideshot at the start & end of the bulletin in Adelaide anymore?
Never. Only tight presenter shots even during sport handover. Wideshots are only extremely rarely used if the bulletin opens with a very significant story and only if they’ve made a backdrop graphic for it. Otherwise they never show off the set.
Because it’s horse shit and looks like a emergency room reception.
“Oh you are bleeding to death? Take a seat and we will assist you after the bulletin”
No kidding, that actually looks like the interiors of one of Adelaide’s hospitals.
