I’ve never understood why Adelaide uses “blank” OTS for some shots. There’s no point, it provides no information might as well just have a normal presenter shot. They’ve done it for years, why??
I prefer that to just a blank skyline behind them.
Yes. They (for some bizarre reason that is only explainable by Seven) lost the likes of Rebecca Maddern, Nick Etchells, Emily Angwin and Jennifer Keyte, yet the mediocre talents like Jacqui Felgate, Sean Sowerby and some of their reporters remain.
Wow. That’s crazy
You just know if he wasn’t ‘working’ he’d be down at the beach with them all.
Though they haven’t really lost anyone in the sports department, apart from Michael Felgate who left mid-2019 and Sandy Roberts, although he left back in 2013.
I’d say that Melbourne’s sports department is one of the stronger parts of the news service. Some pretty good presenters and reporters with experience and good skills in Tim Watson, Jacqui Felgate, Sean Sowerby, Andrew McCormack, Tom Browne and Mark Stevens.
7 News won every market last night but what happened to 9News in Sydney and Brisbane? Was it on at a different time? Tripled by 7 in Sydney and nearly quadrupled in Brisbane!
News aired at 4:45pm for 20 minutes.
Nine News Sydney was only for 30 minutes from 4:30pm to 5:00pm yesterday.
Tonight Nine News will resume normal time.
The NRL has been doing one twilight and one evening game on the Saturday during the first week of the finals for quite a few years now - certainly since at least 2012.
I highly doubt Nine was overly concerned about potentially losing a Saturday night in the ratings to Seven especially after the week (and so far, year) they’ve had in the Sydney & South East QLD ratings. Not that I’m complaining about anything which may potentially encourage Seven to use Usher on more Sunday-Thursday bulletins/discourage Nine from utilising Mark Burrows as a fill-in 6pm bulletin presenter, of course.
Try not to compare Seven News to Nine News directly for that night - the timings were all over the place due to 7’s AFL and certain other scheduled things for other markets
No, like I said. It stated at 4:45 and only went for 20 minutes due to over run from Footy and the needing to get to Footy coverage.
Also, not sure why you felt the need to answer the question again after I already did, but each to their own.
Aaaah!
According to a new promo shown during The Test tonight, there will be a new one-off special about the cruising industry next Sunday (October 11) at 7pm. According to advance guide it will run until around 9pm.
I wonder why it is under 7News Presents and not 7News Spotlight?
EDIT: time and title confirmed.
EDIT 2: synopsis for the cruising special
This documentary special investigates the extraordinary history of cruising and a darker side few are aware of. In the face of the pandemic will a holiday on the high seas ever be the same again?
Isn’t it usually if 7 News Presents it could be from an external production company?
I haven’t seen the promo and I don’t know any tint about the special, just a guess.
The promo shows several cruise ships being dismantled for scrap in Turkey, which was part of Hugh Whitfeld’s special report last week. So I think it’s a Seven production.
Another ratings flop after The Test last night.
where’s some uniformity? So many different elements, so many different graphic effects looks like they’ve just gone through photoshop and used the lot. Sets look shocking.
