Some comments on Seven News ratings. Wednesday saw the 6pm bulletin’s lowest national mid-week rating of the year winning over Nine by 7,000. Nine won the metro market by +100,000 with Seven about 100,000 lowest than the equivalent night last year in the 5 cities.
The bulletin is underperforming in all markets now. Last night easily beaten across all east coast markets plus way below average numbers for Perth and especially Adelaide.
Bear in mind that Seven currently has their A-list newsreaders at the desk. Contrast that with Nine where Georgie Gardner took over this week and is +30,000 ahead each night. Brett McLeod commenced his summer duties in Melbourne and was +50,000 ahead last night. In Brisbane Melissa Downes has been solo for a fourth consecutive week - margin last night was almost 70,000 in total TV.
