Seven News Content and Appearance (2015-2020)

The thing is, I don’t seem to remember Mark Ferguson posing so awkwardly in promotional material during his time at Nine or even the first few years at Seven.

Since about 2014 though…

Will be interesting to see what happens with 7NEWS Perth tonight, the leaders debate finishes at 6PM and they are using the full set for it. Suspecting the news will be presented from the newsroom or in Melbourne.

Hope there will be plenty of caps :stuck_out_tongue:

The old intro of Rick was used - no ‘from our Perth Headquarters’ just ‘This is 7 News with Rick Ardon and then Rick in front of what looks like a green screen but clearly not the main studio.

Seven’s true crime podcast The Lady Vanishes hits #1

7NEWS’ riveting true crime investigation, The Lady Vanishes , is officially the number one podcast in Australia.

Downloaded more than a quarter of a million times in the past month, The Lady Vanishes is a Seven Studios production delving into the true story of a much loved mother, teacher and friend who stepped on a plane for an overseas adventure 22 years ago and is never seen again. In 1997 Marion Barter, the former wife of Australian soccer great Johnny Warren, disappeared without a trace. The circumstances surrounding her disappearance are bizarre. Marion’s daughter, Sally Leydon , has never given up the hope of finding her. This is her quest to find her missing mother.

Barter’s disappearance is the focus of the 7NEWS podcast, The Lady Vanishes , in which 7NEWS investigative journalist Bryan Seymour , executive producer Alison Sandy , producer and writer Sally Eeles , and audio producer Marc Wright help Marion’s daughter search for answers.

Seven Network Director of News and Public Affairs, Craig McPherson , said: “ The Lady Vanishes is a riveting true story with so many twists and turns. Our small Brisbane news team and Bryan out of Sydney are doing an exceptional job unravelling this unsolved mystery. What happened to missing teacher and mum Marion Barter 22 years after she was last seen is still the great unknown but slowly through the work of Marion’s daughter Sally and our podcast team we are inching closer to the truth.”

The Lady Vanishes is available through ACAST or your preferred podcast platform.

No point comparing sports lead-ins, but I don’t really watch 7, has there been any major flow changes in the flow?

I think it has more to do with Seven wanting to share around the responsibilities of the 5pm News than anything happening in Sydney. We have seen it presented from Melbourne, Perth and now Brisbane.

Montage of today’s 5pm national bulletin from Brisbane. First time I can recall seeing anything HD out of the Brisbane studio.

Back to SD for 6pm

The national 5pm bulletin might’ve been played out of the Sydney control room?

That’s the only thing I can think of.
Sounds like they have full HD requipment in Brisbane, but the actual control room is the limiting factor.

Although judging by the wideshot, not all the cameras at Seven Brisbane are in HD.

100% it was, the fact that elements such as the ticker, smooth transition of music, V/O and certain graphics were used says it all.

Other markets have their own adaptions to everything which has been seen when other national or semi-national bulletins have come out of Perth, Melbourne and previously in Brisbane.

Any reason why it came out of Brisbane today? Have we ever seen Adelaide do a national bulletin?
