This looks terrible- watch out Rick don’t slide into the ocean!
Too late!
That watermarking is terrible
That’ll be good for users who want to use the enhanced violin track.
Melbourne now using the Docklands live shot as the main backdrop.
I thought that was new just now.
Don’t really like that.
Yeah I’m interested to see if they still have the one from Hamer Hall overlooking Princess Bridge on the left hand side (have swapped them in comparison to last week)
I don’t hate it.
I LOVE the Hamer Hall live shot because it was different and any Melburnian would recognise it - even though I thought it could have been framed better - but after seeing this Docklands shot on TV, it looks ok to me. Will be interesting to see how it looks in the lighter months.
Doesn’t look too bad yet - but:
It’s the same angle as introduced in 2006 and used up until 2010.
They have always had that angle, they use it a lot for weather and recently added it to the left side of the set to have the “panoramic” (although it’s two different areas of the city)
I understand that Docklands camera is referred to internally as the ‘MAB cam’ because it’s on a building that was developed by MAB Corporation. It can swing around to different views - they’ve used that camera in the past for timelapse video of weather in the past - and it looks like the camera has been upgraded to a HD camera.
there was a lot of coverage at the time in the local press.
Mike Amor did the first story for Sydney tonight.
Rick Ardon did a story on a shark attack victim which aired in Melbourne tonight.

I think they switched the backdrop with weather getting the Hamer Hall shot.
