Seven News Content and Appearance (2020-Feb 2025)

Might be an unpopular opinion but I’m not sure Mike is exactly helping here.

Pete: starts to get back on track previewing a crime story
Mike: “oh right! :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I’ve just never warmed to Peter, he’s always so stiff and uncomfortable like Overton, although Overton looks like he’s straining to even get a word out.

Mike is far more relaxed and easy to watch and he and Bec get along well. Would be a good time to change before Tom and Alicia get too bedded in.

I remember that episode well. They used an American consultant to help the team boost their ratings. His suggestions included Brooke co-hosting, commentary style subtitles in stories, new hairstyles and using the colour orange everywhere because orange is “the truth colour”.

You’d think they’d use a standard name/brand across the network for it? Doesn’t Brisbane have one too?

Yes, Brisbane have one called Sunnyside

judging by the comments here, I was expecting it to be a lot worse, tbh. Yes, it’s awkward, but it does give the impression that they just threw him in the studio with nothing prepared and just asked them to fill 30 seconds. Knowing that ad-libbing isn’t his greatest strength, it was sloppy production.

Yes, I agree with this. It will be interesting to see how they approach this today. I’m expecting a return to the newsroom cross.

They seem to use the “Live at 6.00” end boards for story specific promos

I’m quite flustered that they quoted me! Daily Mail, any chance you can add ‘Shaun’ as the reference

FFS, we’re going to have to start asking the Daily Mail a commission for the amount of content we generate for them

maybe some overworked producer yesterday ran out of time to script the segment so they just threw him out to the sharks and hoped for the best :crossed_fingers:

Someone at Seven is messing with us. The name of the new midday bulletin has been changed, at least in the schedules to

Seven’s National News At Noon

you’d think a tv presenter with decades of experience as a tv presenter could present on tv for a few minutes with minimal preparation.
