Seven News Content and Appearance (2020-Feb 2025)

Reminds me of Mike Moore and frontline with the fake laugh at the end of the Friday night clown segment.

The anchors would lose credibility if they’re laughing like idiots after the throw back.

Agree. Potentially could be ok as a look back at the week. But have just one news item and the subject matter wasn’t funny. Think of the funny segments that The Cheap Seats managed to get out of the UK election. That would have been a better place to start.

It might have been an idea to close the bulletin first, then have the 6:57 news as a separate bit.

i would like to think that the bulletin ended with his mouth open, in shock of what he just watched :stuck_out_tongue:

He wants a Ron Burgundy.

This has to be the worst news service I’ve seen in long time. I’m not liking the new news director of Seven.

Sorry if I’ve missed it but when does this horoscope segment / 20 second slide thing start? Seven should have got Jackie Gillies for that.

The Perth bulletin at the end of tonight: (if they air it) :face_with_peeking_eye:

I saw Mark Humphries’ segment on X/Twitter before coming to this forum tonight. It was not too bad, the blunders by Joe Biden yesterday (US time) certainly gave Mark plenty of material.

I give the segment three months.

Noticably they have turned off comments on the instagram post… probably a good thing, as Mark is probably a nice guy and the comments would not have made for good reading.

Don’t mind some of Humphries’ work in small doses but that was pretty ordinary and not overly funny.

Seven released a publicity photo of Mark Humphries sitting on the news desk.

He has no right to do such a thing as a freelance comedian.

Is he an old mate of Ceglie? They look like goofy twins.

Like dinosaurs in a tar pit all networks are dying a slow death. No amount of embarrassing stunts will change that.

Well I guess you haven’t seen the shots where he not only sits at the desk, but also uses the sport video screen.

I have yes. It makes a joke of those who have earned the right to sit at the desk. His presence diminishes their authority. It’s insulting.

Eh? That’s a bit much. He’s doing work for Channel 7, he’s part of the show (as much as we all dislike it). If it fails (which it probably will) he’ll be out the door along with everyone else.

Sitting at the desk and on the desk shows total disrespect to the journalists and anchors who have worked for decades to be there.

He’s a comedian and is turning the bulletin into a national joke.
